Hello everybody,
Felt a bit yuk this morning when I woke up. I did a bit of a tidy round this morning and then went and had a lay down at 11.30am. I woke up at 2pm.Felt so much better for it. Vacumed & washed floors this arv while DH mowed the lawn. I ate some tea but not a lot. I think it was just too much rich food over a small amount of time. Must remember next year not be such a piggy.
DD left this am and has arrived safe and sound. DH has his dentist appt tomorrow morning at 8.30am. I'm going in and after that we're getting shelving etc for our inbuilt cupboard. One more step closer. How exciting. The cyclone is still hovering up north. We are to get windy weather on the weekend. Well that's the prediction atm. They are very unpredictable.
Kyle Sorry to hear about your great-aunt. Give Twink afor me. Glad that DS1 is a bit better this morning.

well, just had a bit of a disaster.. went to clean the cooker lid and noticed the tiles behind the cooker were ridged, running downwards, so i thought "bleep" and pulled the cooker out carefully a lil bit. the whole lot came crashing down behind the cooker, about 8 tiles. I can't get in there to clean cos the turkey is in the oven! I've checked the gas supply and it seems to be okay - the oven is still on - so i've just left it for now. Fortunately its not going to cost us money, as we're in social housing, so tomorrow we'll have to call the repairs team, but i don't think that should happen.. the whole kitchen was redone 2 years ago in January. Feels like shoddy work to me. Hope that's the one disaster for the day, and not a portent of things to come!
Kyle - I'm sorry to hear about your great aunt. *hugs*.

Morning all
A late start for me today, I had a lie in til 7:30 & then stayed in bed to read for a while.
Still no word from the lodger, so we have no idea when she's coming back. I've had great fun with the phone while she's been away, every time I answer it & someone just barks her name at me I just hang up without saying a word. I assumed at first that it was her family & friends from abroad that were doing it & made allowances, but have now discovered that they are in London. They don't have language problems, it is just a lack of manners, which I don't approve of!!!
We have 12 people visiting tomorrow, so I'm doing a buffet of cold meat, Cheese, HM bread, salad etc. I have no idea when anyone is arriving, but if it's a cold meal it won't spoil, so it doesn't matter when they get here.
I will also make a pot of HM broccoli & stilton soup with the broccoli stalks & the last piece of stilton left in the freezer since September.
Everything else left from christmas has been made into pies & soups which will last us for a few weeks.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Hi all  <<<<<hugs>>>> to Kyle, I'm so sorry about your sad news and I hope you feel better very soon.
We had our Christmas day yesterday, a bit like Kethry, but unfortunately it didn't go much to plan, my visitors were delayed by a coach getting stuck in a narrow lane and arrived 40 minutes late  then both of my sisters were ill, one in particular had to snooze in my bed for the afternoon and my elderly mother was very agitated and confused. The dinner was one of the best I'd ever cooked I think, but unfortunately hardly any of it was eaten so we have piles and piles of leftovers today including cakes, bread, ham, turkey, veggies etc etc which will take a month of Sundays to get through so most of it will get frozen until I can get my enthusiasm back to create delicious dinners from it all.
Today I'm going to strip the turkey carcass and get the stock made, then wrestle the rest of the meat from OH's grip otherwise he will insist on making a curry from all of the leftover meat and waste it all (no one wil eat his curries except him, they are more than disgusting).
Have a great day everyone, I hope everyone who has the dreaded Bug is on the mend.

morning all,
Hugs to Kyle sorry about your aunt,
pen pin hope you feel better later xx
Kathy hope you are ok.
Well we have guests today  , I am getting slightly fed up with the whole guests roast dinner thing, I will be glad when today is over and we can get back to some sort of normality,, got my parents coming and OH's dad, got a huge bit of pork in the oven which will do a few days, still eating the leftovers, but not too much to go.
Going to make a baileys triffle for pudding, sounds lovely, then once everyone has gone, veg out on the sofa, and do nothing, well thats the plan.
Better go and help I can hear OH peeling spuds, have a great day all xx0
