Any man who is still wearing jumpers that look as if they're from the 80s deserves respect! Although will somebody please tell Liz MacDonald as was to stop looking like a startled doormouse......;)

Kirstie and Phil said last night that mid 30's was the average age to buy a house, don't despair!

you have done SO well not being in more debt over a year, if you had a set amount for "spends" a month would that help you?

  • No I'm okay - I meant for Mum2One. How was your wallow? Listed anything else on e-bay? I sold some writing paper the other week - nice set (I bought a job lot with the intention of putting it on a car boot - best intentions etc). Really nice set and £1.20 for 20 sheets and 10 envelopes - also a pen (cheapo nasty not even bic sort of pen). Buyer moaned in the feedback that the pen didn't work! Honestly, I didn't even think to test the pen as it meant opening the packaging.......... You always get one eh? Did you see any of the partial eclipse this morning? I had my NASA eclipse glasses at work - boy was I Miss Popular!! We're going to watch the full NASA stream of the even on the 'net tonight (how exciting me and Mr Rage are :rotfl: ). Righ back to work - "crack".

  • Well it wasn't so much of wallow, as it was wallow to stop wallowing - cos I have been! (does that make sense)

I really do have to just get on with it. thats it, its not nice, its sometimes not easy but it is what it is.

I have done the very unDFW thing of buying furniture. I had asked on free cycle when CoD (I think) first suggestd it but not had anything come up,

I worked out my debt free date to be dec2009, it could have been september/october without dentist and car and ou and now furniture! but I feel if I want to have any sort of life then I am going to have to spend money!

yes I know that is self indulgent of me, but at the moment I am in job I can't realistically change without being able to drive, I had to get my teeth fixed and I love studying - it is my hobby.

The furniture is a bit more tough to justify even to me, but currently I am keeping Ou work in a box, school work in a box and have very little desk space. I am so tired of it. So I spent 266 pounds on a four pieces of furniture. It keeps me at my debt free date of dec 09 but I figure I will be a lot happier in an organised environment. it will also mean I can work much more at home, no guilt about leaving Mum alone AND not being in a poisonous atmosphere at work.

On the positive side my loan is going down, and the cc bill is 0% so I am ok with that. plus with the second job and hopefully money from Avon and E bay it will work. especially now I have stopped feeling sorry for myself.

sorry if i have disappointed anyone.

  • Furniture ? You'll be wanting to buy food next :D Well if it helps put your head in a "good space" as our American cousins say it may well be worth it. I am desperate for shelving in our office but Mr Rage and I only have one pair of hands and we're busy doing stuff on the other house so we can get it let. This weekend I am going to attempt to do some work for the medical transcription service I've signed up for. It is my hope of getting out of work full-time if I can get enough work through it. :j Just been to Pizza Express using the free 2-4-1- voucher and then spent £176 on theatre tickets  - that is about a dozen nights out though so the lad on the booking desk did justify it for us (once Mr Rage and I had finished swearing whilst closing our eyes and handing over the CC!). I am off now to lie down....... :rotfl:
