I would be up for a York fly meet. It would need to be a Sunday, or a Tuesday afternoon for me.
Bins emptied and I have made individual lemon meringue pies with homemade lemon curd.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
@YORKSHIRELASS spotted yesterday on the moor (DD just out of shot).I still have every phone I've ever owned, going back to the Motorola M300 from 1993.@roundtuit well done on surviving another week. They don't know how lucky they are to have you.@mumtoomany can I come and live with you please? Your cooking sounds great. I'm house trained.Re York, does anyone remember that exotic fruit shop that used to be a the end of the Shambles? It sold things are common in supermarkets now but were unheard of (at least in my part of Yorkshire) in those days (1970s), e.g. mangoes. I'm pretty certain it's no longer there.Got up early and vacc'd the windows, then went out to get the paper and the weekend cheese straws, and a pain au chocolat for A. Came back and then went out again for a couple of other things. When i got back, made us a coffee and then washed up. Gave the bathroom a mini-clean, made lunch and washed up.FLYADVICE REQUEST: I have an egg glut, and they are two days past their UB date. I already have one hard boiled but do you think it will be ok to make a cake with the others? I also have a lemon mountain and always have butter, flour and sugar in so I could make a lemon drizzle cake. As the eggs will be cooked, do you think it will be ok?

Eggs normally easily keep past their date. You can do the float test. Put the eggs (in shell) in a bowl of water. If they sink they're OK, if they float ditch them

Thanks. They're organic eggs that have been kept in the fridge but I did the float test and they stayed firmly at the bottom of the water so here goes.4 -

Thanks PP.Cake made and out of the oven and cooling in the tin. Everything WUAPA. Took a bag of recycling down and popped to a local small shop and bought some Cyprus potatoes as I forgot them earlier. Am now about to start on a (probably inauthentic) Lancashire hotpot for our supper, which I need to get in the oven fairly soon if it is to be ready in time.6

Hotpot in and everything WUAPA - will put some sliced potatoes on the top in a bit.

I am exhausted.. 2 hours cleaning in the kitchen and it is no different at all!! The table is clearer because OH was bossed to put some stuff in the shed.. including christmas decs. I put a fruit cake out for the birdies.1 airer cleared and refilled.TD's both emptied
WM on and second one filled with black stuff.. nt quite full yet though.
DW on its second run.. I found 2 oven shelves in the cupboard so washing those so I can use them.Cupboard reshuffled because I need pan sace and the an cupboard has gradually filled with random stuff which is not a pan.. I put the green bags for the maggot bin in a box with binbags and sandwich bags and restacked everything.. it is much neater. I even went wild and wiped the 2 cupboards!
I rejiggled the under-sink cupboard and condensed the almost emty bottles.. one has a weird concoction of bicarb spray, disinfectant and elbow grease.. and is a gross murky colour.Hob wipedrecycling bin filled and emptied twice.lots of bread crusts binned and some empty bottles and jars and a used up yankee candle.. FLING!!!!
AAAAAANNNNNDDDDD... it looks no different!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Ooh CofG that looks exactly like the dress I was wearing today 😂. It rained for a bit then the sun came out, then it rained and rained and rained,. We had a great walk and a lovely catch up despite the weather.
In my pj's now. DW emptied, lasagne heated up, and kitchen cleaned. According to my smart watch I have used up 791 calories so I might need a pudding.
Thanks for the tip about the phones, I might donate them to Oxfam but the nearest one is 25miles away so it might be easiest to wait until we are next in the big city.6
