Going to have to disturb her soon unfortunately as time to do some mobility stretches….
My official 3 month mark of being retired today. Absolutely loving it and all my financial anxieties about giving up work totally gone. Looking back I had nowt to fear and possibly should have gone sooner. Would rather cut my cloth than have work anxiety again.
Been for a 90 minute walk in woods this morning, will now do some exercises, then off for a coffee to a nearby village this afternoon. Tomorrow similar with gym and sauna thrown in, and visit to friends.Need to fit in some tidying up and reading, it’s a hard life.Money SPENDING Expert7 -
Love it Bluenose...
I am 64... still working... But there is a current round of redundancies in the offing...
So fingers crossed....
Would love to retire this year
The reason I started this thread was to give inspiration to all of us who are really close but not quite there yet....
Love the comments... Love the insights2 -
Univ friend, turned 55 a couple of months ago, announced last week that he'd been offered a redundancy package.
Yesterday is his first day of retirement!
33 years of FS pension no doubt will be very lucrative.1 -

Then 25 mile bike ride to a cafe (coffee, beef-jalepeno and horseradish cream sandwich, raspberry square) and 25 miles back home. Listened to "The Rest is History" podcasts on Martin Luther.
Afternoon spent re seeding bare spots on the lawn and sat down and drank two beers while I admired my work.
It sounds marvelousAnd so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.2 -

20th day of actual skiing here in Les Arcs (French Alps)….350km done so far 💪
I can thoroughly recommend it ⛷️
3 pals joined us for a week each, & our son is here now, plus some other pals own their own apartment and are here to ski & socialise with: great fun 👍
Some fresh snow and blue skies this week (& ferocious gales at one point…)….trying hard to keep going!
I was inspired by a work friend who took a sabbatical some years ago & did a full season in the mountains. We had only ever done a week, & are not massively good skiers, but we figured out 4 weeks only costs a little more than 2, so we have factored it into retired life (until we are too decrepit, of course….or the ice melts 😱).
Back to reality at the weekend 😳Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!5
