Nationwide Fairer Share Payment 2024

To plan so I can look at doing this for next year (can't get a NW switch bonus so no point pushing that angle)
Have a FlexAccount - bounce in £500 a month for at least Jan-Mar though maybe longer to be safe
Have a Flex Regular Saver - assuming still offered and have at least £100 in it (terms this year say £100 by CoB on any day in March)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Ok guys, I’m gonna share my little opinion 😊. Personally I feel like the £100 FairShare was indeed fair. I have been current account holder for over 20 years… and although a standard FlexAccount offers no perks I keep it as it’s the account details I remember off by heart. Also have flex plus for insurances. DD’s are with Santander as at least you get something back. NBS savings rates are not great so I save elsewhere. But I do have a mortgage with them for over 12 years. Now last year I received the payment. This year I also qualified (tbh I thought it was a one off thing last year). My mortgage is not at the “qualifying” rate but they still gave me the bonus. In your opinions would you consider this unfair?Don’t get me wrong I am definitely a money saver and take advantage of switches etc and all of that, but my ‘main’ account is NBS.As I said I wasn’t expecting a bonus this year and next year if they do it, I won’t qualify on their current criteria. However I don’t and didn’t feel entitled to receive this from them, despite them being a mutual. The argument that the criteria should have been published prior so everyone could get their ducks in a row doesn’t seem fair. It’s not like a switch bonus, in my opinion it’s trying to reward customers who stuck with them anyway, regardless of their not so great rates and lack of perks and upgrades (like transaction notifications)0

They could have paid out £103 if it wasn't for the cost of all those letters ;p6

Or £97 to people who don't opt out of paper & £100 to those that do.
Give the people something else to complain about 😁1 -
Perhaps they'll send a letter to those that don't qualify for the £100 and charge them £3.
