I wasn't "all over the news" at all. You've been brainwashed by your addiction to the money section of the Daily Mail.2010 said:
The "wider world" 16 million members didn`t hear about it after it was in all the news, unless they were on forums such as this. Get real!boingy said:
Only people on this and similar forums (and maybe some of their mates, colleagues & family). The wider world was mostly oblivious to it, even many those who qualified for probably just thought "hey, bonus!" rather than seeking out the criteria.2010 said:After last year`s NW payment and all the furore that went with it, I would have thought that anyone with a NW account towards the end of last year, would have placed themselves in a position for this years payment.
It would be interesting to know how many who missed the payment last year actually took action to get it this year.
3.5 million of the 16 million members got a pay out. Most probably didn't know why. The rest of the members were mostly oblivious.

i have flex and regular savings i won't get the bonus but my fault didn't follow the rules anyway my question off topic is.
since last thursday my nationwide app has failed to load, i have reinstalled and upgraded, has anyone else had this problem and did you resolve it.
online is fine, thanks for any help.0 -
Endlessly debating about it is not going to change anything - neither for the past 2 cycles, nor for any potential future cycles... put yourself in the other's shoes and appreciate the point of view, and move on.
Those who proacted and won, enjoy your payday and the satisfaction of remembering to do the deeds to win.
Those who won by luck, enjoy your payday and your luck, no point dwelling on rights or wrongs.
Those who (like me) didn't win, you've made your valid points, but it's time to move on and plan to try next time.
Let's not be divisive about it amongst the MSE community, it is clear now that active current account use is simply the focal point of Nationwide's marketing strategy, so let's just accept it as it is and stick to what is within our control, i.e. play the game, ignore the game, vote at their AGM or vote with your feet altogether.

Recently every time I open the app I get an availability error but if I close that and leave the app for a few more seconds I can login as normal with my fingerprint.1 -

Well I don't know where you been but it was reported on media sites both this year and last year, Google even sends me notifications to stories regarding things such as loads of people missing out on fair share payments etc.boingy said:

And what percentage of Nationwide members noticed or cared? I'll give you a clue. It's in single figures.jameseonline said:

Why not change the joint account to FlexPlus and your sole account to Flex?smk77 said:Nationwide customer with a personal FlexPlus account opened in Feb 24 which means I qualify via that.
However, also got a joint flex account with my wife. Over £100k in transactions over the period. A couple of savings accounts and a mortgage customer for 19 years. Do not qualify. The reason, 2 of the 3 months didn't have more than 10 transactions.
Note to self. Pay in £1000 Jan, Feb, Mar 2025 and make 10x £100 transactions back into the funding account.
That way both you and your wife are covered by the insurance and you both get £100 automatically.2 -
Just had the confirmation letter through the post, using very high quality paper and envelope it must be said 😏
