Ahhh. That feels better. I've had a hug off DS. They called on their way home from a stay in a posh hotel in Rossington ( I think that's where tis) after spending the day in Meadowhell yesterday. I phoned him on Thursday just to hear his voice. So he knew I needed a DS fix 😍
While they were here I gave the second load of washing a second spin, and pegged it out after they left. I've also DUPA and washed, dried and recycled the soaking plastics.
asb - CoG Is definitely a man because he was concerned that he couldn't join our gang. But we said Come on in. And he did. And he's stayed. And he's now my lovely posh friend in London - although he maybe didn't know that til now. 😊 So I hope that unconfuses you.
For the record I think you're probably all posh. 😊 But then you could all be axe wielding murderers writing from prison... 🤷♀️
But i don't think so as there'd be inconsistencies in your posts and there isn't as far as I can tell. Yep. Try living in my head. It's scarey 🤣🤣
Lunch now.

Thanks ladies, she’s fast asleep and I hope she stays that way for the rest of the day poor love. I’ve tidied round and stocked up the coal bucket.Ah I’m so sorry CoG in my head you are a lady who floats around Oxford street in a lovely liberty print scarf and lives in one of those converted houses in Marylebone with four stories and a balcony. Last time I was in London I pottered round the charity shops in that area and found the cutest street EVER, Devonshire Mews. Odd what we remember isn’t it!
Round I’m definitely not posh. I’m country chic 🤣🤣 ie my house is covered in ash, straw and paw prints, my card gets declined buying Aldi wine and I eat pheasant for three months of the year because it’s free from the gamekeeper 🤣🤣8 -
This thread has had me in hysterics today. @Asparklierblonde I am indeed a man, as is A. Hope you still like me,
The idea of me, at 6ft 4 and 14 and a half stone floating anywhere, let alone in a Liberty scarf.....
@roundtuit I'm from 'ull so I can't be posh (piggers excepted lol) but I'm very happy to be your friend. On a serious note, I hope ASB's DD soon recovers. At least you have a diagnosis now so she will be having the correct treatment.@pigpen thank you for the spoon explanation - I really like it. What are sticks and frogs?Minimal flying so far. This morning I went out earlyish for a walk and to the bakery that does the lovely cheese straws and bought a couple, plus a pain au chocolate for A and a coconut macaroon for me (well, it is Saturday). I walked back and A wanted to go to the park so we went to Kensington Gardens and I pushed him around in the wheelchair. Things are starting to come out but it will be better in a week or two. We did see a couple of robins and some blue tits, which will fly down and eat out of your hand if you hold it out. There were lots of people out running which made it feel a bit like an assault course though, but I just ploughed on and let them avoid us. We had a coffee from one of the kiosks and then went home via the wine shop (well, it is Saturday ).Came home and I made lunch and afterwards ate far too many chocolates from a box of posh French ones that I bought at the deli the end of the road for less than half price (well, it is Saturday) Now it's time to wash up.

Still kind of procrastinating here. I have made some progress with two piles of paperwork as in an old fashioned letter has been written and some papers are now neatly in a file!
I have made a Victoria sponge for when DH gets home tomorrow night. Washed up again.
I'm not posh either. I have a cockney type accent and am a fishwife!Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Sorry to hear that your DD got worse, ASB, but so glad the horse piddle were on the ball. GWS vibes heading your way, but don't hesitate to take her back there if you are worried about her xxx
Saturday has a lot to answer for, CoG- especially the picture I now have in my head of you floating around in a Liberty scarf (and a suit - not your birthday one, TG), waving a posh cheese straw in one hand, a glass of wine (Waitr05e or Fortnum's?) in the other and balancing a chocolate on your nose. (Why should I think that?)
Thanks Jazee. I expect cake will be involved. Rosie is going along too, but I'm leaving DH in a railway museum that he's never visited before - much to my surprise. He hasn't really done enough flying recently to have earned his wings (or cake, though I somehow suspect he will get a slice where he is going).
round, your imagination is even more vivid than mine! But how did you suss me out so easily? [looks round for an axe]
I have taken Rosie for a walk, finished the cakes for DS1&Co and DS2&Co, made a plum crumble for pudding tonight, put a small joint and a nut roast in to cook at the same time as the crumble, and fetched a larger piece of wood for K's shelf from our NNDN. Now I must throw the Dy$on around the LR, wave the duster-onna-stick over the bookshelves and mantlepiece, and then start prepping the veg.
This thread makes me laugh too. Great, innit? Love, (((hugs))) and spoons * to all, and sticks thrown for any BDs * that might be lurking in the shadows xxx

Sorry to hear about your DD ASB, I hope she perks up quickly .... and enjoy that wine!
Couple of loads of washing done and on the line ... including all the chair and sofa throws ... cat most pleased at the freshly laundered one gone back on and has settled down in approval ... it'll be nice for the weather to warm up enough to throw the door/windows open, but not yet, not for me (I'll do the upstairs ones when I'm not upstairs, but downstairs, brrrr)
Kitchen is getting an impromptu "clean" ... commonly known as DH is doing plumbing on one of the radiators, as a consequence I think he's managed to move just about everything in there! Including my spuds which are chitting, woe betide he damages any of those !
However, it does mean he's taken down the extractor vent for the cooker and cleaned, which is a job I find most unpleasant .. so that's a win from me
He has also managed to find the radiator brush, something which has been MIA since we moved (erm, think early 2020) ... so I guess I know what's on my list for this week ... in fairness, most of the radiators have been changed by DH since we moved in, so it's not like we've got inherited dust!
Haven't done anything I'd planned to do today, due to having been awake since 03:30, no idea why, just was.
Right, time for a cuppa and a choc digestive and then perhaps I'll go and look at the next sewing job on my list
Have a good evening all.

Hi all
It's like walking in on a group of dear friends having a brew and a natter logging in here, I love you all.
Been to my Saturday volunteering. I am having an issue with a male work colleague who is a bit over friendly at work and has now joined my Saturday morning group where he glues himself to me talking about work. I have bluntly said that a) I don't want to talk shop on a Saturday and b) this volunteering is a social thing for me and I want to chat to other people. He has completely ignored this. DH thinks I should say something at work but I feel like I should be able to handle this.
Otherwise I have had called into town for some shopping, hung some washing out in the sun, have had a couple of hours helping DH sort the shed and garden, and have run the cordless hoover around.
Out tonight for a friends birthday, lots of people going that I don't know but I feel surprisingly OK about that.
Hope DD is on the mend ASB x7 -

Yes, it does lol. What an image! Neither on the wine; I usually go to a local independent. They are really nice in there and give me the case price even if I only buy half a bottle, and I never buy more than 3 or bottles at a time.Washed up after lunch and put the Ocado delivery away then watched some tennis online. Now going to wash up again and do the pre-bed eye routine, set A's breakfast things up and try and get a reasonably early night for once, but I'm forever saying that.8 -
Oh ASB poor DD…well done on the priorities.
Washing dried on line beautifully, including towels, so they’re on the maiden airing. So pleased.
Actually i like mopping…it’s good value in my opinion… good results for not much effort…i have a string mop and a steam mop and alternate between the two…
Mind you i like ironing.
We’ve found a Chines we like…ours closed down so we’ve been investigating. Plus you get a huge bag of prawn crackers AND fortune cookies and they deliver which is good because it’s on a main road, near a junction so parking is fiddly.
