Any Black Horse replies?

Hello,
I just wondered if anybody had contacted Black Horse and had a response?

I contacted them in Jan before this started getting publicity and then again more recently using the MSE template and haven’t had a response or an acknowledgment at all.

I simply wanted to know, not complain, whether my Tesla PCP had any discretionary commission on it.

 Cheers

The FCA has suspended complaints/enquiries about discretionary interest until they complete their review and issue a report. September this year is when that is due.  Firms are allowed to do nothing with anyone doing it now and can wait until the FCA have completed its review.

Yes, I filled out Martin's form a few days ago and received this earlier today.

I assume they used Resolver because that's what Martin/MSE push people to use so you don't need the email specifically

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I used mse.motorcommission@blackhorse.co.uk using Martin's automated email creator.

Reads like a one they've setup thanks to Martin as the mse part, as seems unusual to use mse if not.

Been 24 days without a response for me so far, so wonder if they will only reply to ones directly sent to them. Then wait on any sent via this email address until September..

Wondering whether to raise another one through their website, as well as the one already raised.
  • Sent a claim off to blackhorse today for 2 bikes that I had details for, there will almost certainly be others that I don't have all the relevant info for so will see what comes back.

    Auto-response relieved immediately.

I've also had a follow-up email from Black Horse basically saying they are busy and to bear with them. All fine of course, nothing's going to happen until at least September.

But the news segment I saw on ITV stating Lloyds (Black Horse) has put aside £450m in the event they need to start saving a lot more than that. Who knows, but them putting it aside is a good omen at least!

It's not an omen of any sort, they are simply preparing. MSE unfortunately has a habit of indulging in hyperbole, reading their weekly newsletter, you'd believe that anyone who ever bought a car was getting a full refund of all their payments. The FCA may simply say as it wasn't banned at the time, there is no wrong doing, or they may say lenders should pay back the difference between what you could have got and what they inflated it to, or just a token compensation for each person - so the lenders are putting the money aside just in case, it's no more than that.

Do note that statistically most sellers didn't use DCA and in some cases, it was actually positive i.e. lowering your rate to get the deal through. Therefore I wouldn't worry about anything until the FCA review is done and certainly don't get your hopes up if Martin Lewis keeps banging on about billions being refunded as he has no more idea than anyone else.

I understand all this. I just meant this provision by BH is better than others and keeps the lane open.

    Not worried at all.

I know nothing has been decided etc. and so on.

Its a new regulatory requirement where there are potential issues.  Its not a sign of anything other than BH complying with regulatory requirements.
