I just did my application to Lloyds and the account has opened so the switch should be finished in a week or so. Closing a 2nd Chase account.
Annoyingly I see it is an advert version of Disney+ you get for 12 months!
Yep. No option to upgrade either, which is quite terrible.

I think it must be a recent change by Lloyds? My friend took the Disney+ option before and he said his was the normal level subscription.
Just picked it anyway and it looks like it might take up to a month for the Disney+ to activate? Annoyingly my current subscription runs out in 10 days so can't decide what to do. I guess I cancel my current renewal as no point in paying £80 up front!

November '23 it changed. I managed to get 1 last year of Disney+ by renewing a benefit which happened to be up in November to Disney+ (and changing another back to the original one) but as things stand that'll be it for me too, same goes for your friend.

How long has it been taking to get Disney+ ads set up after opening the account?

I opened the account just before the end of February and said at the time I wanted Disney and confirmed it in a link from an email.  Switch has since completed too. Will I get an email about it eventually?

The morning after joining you get an email inviting you to select an option by x day (might be 30 days in the future). Your benefit begins after that date passes. In the case of Disney+ you'll be sent a link shortly after.

The conditions of the offer require you to transfer two active direct debits as part of the switch. Some of us feel the benfit is worth having and so want to keep the account open even after receiving the bonus. As far as I can see, we are NOT required to keep the debits active if we want them to be taken against another account. Indeed, the general terms and conditions for the account say "We will only pay interest on a credit balance in your account for that billing period if you have at least two different direct debits paid from your account during the calendar month. " So we don't need any direct debits on the account in use, and they aren't mentioned as part of the benefit condition.

Correct, the only thing keeping the DDs on the account triggers is the interest on balance. Remember you still need to pay in £2000/month to waive the £3 charge (which of course does not have to stay in).

Thanks both, the email says 30 days from this email, so shouldn't be long now.

Just to add, the T&Cs for the lifestyle benefit state that to reselect a lifestyle benefit at renewal, you must have made at least two payments in or out of your account every month (Condition 15).

Does anyone who's been with Lloyds for a while know if transferring money into the account (and back out again) counts as a payment?  If not this could be something to look out for if you move the direct debits and don't use the account for spending and want to renew the lifestyle benefit.

Yes. I have never made a Visa Debit payment from the account, and for the last 18 months or so have had no direct debits either. The key thing to note is the 'in or out' - there's no way (I can think of) to achieve the 'in' part other than a transfer or deposit of some kind, it therefore follows that transfers or withdrawal out also count.
