  • From my experience Lloyds doesn’t give option to say ‘no debit card’ - I phoned them and they confirmed I could switch without debit card but I had to do it over the phone
  • Hi all. I saw a question asking if direct debits need to have been paid, and wondered if anyone had a definitive answer on this. I’ve got a Halifax account to switch and have set up 2 direct debits to go out if it, but they won’t be paid until the beginning of April, after the deal has ended. Do you know if it will qualify? I can see them pending on the Halifax account now.
  • Anyone else not have to do any ID checks/verification when applying for a new account through the Lloyds app? This must be the first bank that didn't ask me for id or photo.

Most 'old fashioned' banks will seek to identify you electronically before they insist on ID being provided. I think Natwest Group are the exception.

If you haven't yet started the application, go ahead. Lloyds say that you must apply  by March 28 but that it does not have to be completed by then. There is a place in the switching process application where you can choose a date on which the switch completes, so just make it after the Halifax debits have gone through. And only start the application on the 25th or even later

I just did my application to Lloyds and the account has opened so the switch should be finished in a week or so. Closing a 2nd Chase account.
Annoyingly I see it is an advert version of Disney+ you get for 12 months!

Yep. No option to upgrade either, which is quite terrible.
