    GMAC (General Motors Acceptance Corporation) went bankrupt in 2013. After requesting my information from a Vauxhall Dealer they said I needed to contact Vauxhall themselves. I am still waiting for a response but it is still within a 28 day period. Please see below mentioned.

    Has anyone had a response from gmac yet?
    My finance was with GMAC, but as I could find no reference to their existence these days, I sent my email on 8th Feb 2024 using MSE's email tool to gbcar-csc-complaints@vauxhallfinance.com.  Nothing back at all - not even an acknowledgement of receipt.

    My wife sent her email to Audi/VW finance and had an automated response within hours (they've since emailed her again to say they've been overwhelmed and have told the regulator they won't be able to comply with the 28 day response time).

    I'll give it another week and then email Vauxhall again and see if I get a response, automated or otherwise.

    Vauxhall have a dedicated email address for commission complaints. I was given this address when I telephoned them and it is now on the Martin Lewis site.

    There is literally no point at all doing this and sending chases

    The process is on hold until the end of September, all you are doing is creating admin work and associated costs, which will be passed onto other buyers, for something that they may not even be liable for.

    Wait until the FCA review completes

    Just phoned Vauxhall Finance. They confirmed they will be sending acknowledgements out. They have received 38,000 complaints. So they have had to take on and train extra staff to deal with this. The new staff will finish training this week and start going through the complaints on Monday... watch this space!

    Which just highlights the costs being incurred which may be totally unnecessary but will ultimately be passed on the consumer.

    And no, don't watch this space.  You are now entering 7 months of silence.

    Perfect! Thank you for this info. I forwarded my original email that I had sent to GBCAR-CSC-Complaints@vauxhallfinance.com to the new address you have given as I also hadn't heard anything back and MSE advice was to follow up if you had not heard anything at all. Got an immediate acknowledgement so at least I now know that my claim is in the system.
