I've had a look at my original documents (finance agreement started 2016) and from 2018 the footnotes have Vauxhall Finance on them. I've emailed Vauxhall and recieved an acknowledgement email from Stellantis Financial Services UK (Stellantis Financial Services UK Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales under company registration number 01024322 having its registered office at 61 London Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 1QA).0

I've also relieved an acknowledgement email from stellantis financial services in respect of gmac finance I took out so its just a waiting game now0

My agreement was with GMAC. Thanks to info in this thread I was able to send my template to Vauxhall Finance. But the email I received back from Stellantis was not an acknowledgement. It said "we're unable to look at this request without further information from you" with a link which directed me to a page on the Stellantis Financial Services website. The page asked for similar information to what was included in the email template e.g agreement number, name, registration number etc. I completed the information and submitted the form and just received a message on screen to say my request has been submitted. But no follow up email/acknowledgment after this.
I am unsure if I have successfully logged the enquiry/complaint? Has anyone else experienced this with Stellantis when trying to lodge an enquiry against a previous GMAC agreement? I noticed other people have said they successfully received acknowledgement from Stellantis.0 -
Hi, I have also sent and email to GBCAR-CSC-Complaints@vauxhallfinance.com and received an automated response from Stellantis Financial Services, advising me that my email has been received and they will be in touch soon. Anyone else that is further along the process and can advise?0

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

If you're looking for GMAC pre 2012 - then that business was bought by Ally Financial, a US corporation registered in Delaware, but with Headquarters at 500 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48226, US.
They bought the UK GMAC business in 2006, but ceased trading in the UK in 2013, closing their office in Cardiff.
Meantime, GMAC UK bought the business back from Ally in 2012 and is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Vauxhall Motors - although I'm not sure how that worked out given the General Motors - Stellantis sale of Vauxhall and Opel etc.
I have managed to get a reply from Vauxhall, however, they can't find my finance agreement. Perhaps not surprising given the changes in ownership.
Ally Financials' UK address was: Heol-Y-Gamlas, Parc Nantgarw, Treforest, Cardiff, United Kingdom, CF15 7QU
I would say, given the courtroom victory against Close Brothers on Friday 25th October 2024 as reported in the Guardian, there is a reasonable prospect of refunding any overcharging that went on. Worth noting Close Brothers intend to appeal, so there is a way to go yet.

However, in your case, there is no company to pay out to as it's gone. We will have to wait and see whether the FSCS feel it is something they need to be involved with it.
