aww Slinky… sorry about the cat.
Well I have perked up…don’t know what it was but it took a couple of hours.
Busy day at work, but i got my fave sandwich at the co-op en route. Done some stocktaking in the kitchen at work. came home, got washing in. non iron stuff airing on maiden. lots of stuff into recycling bin so that’s out for collection and full. Tidied round at home. ate tea. The dessert, I think, has stayed me… cherry pie. I have been in agony and am now in bed shattered. so my sympathies tonight lie with those with iBS - at least mine is temporary, I hope,Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

(((Hugs))) to Slinky - so sorry you've lost your furry friend x
GWS to Valli x
Hope you manage to get your DS to his appointment, YL x
Well done to all who've been flying properly today. I haven't, though I have done a bit more of the outstanding admin.
I also made a GF cake this morning especially for a friend who I thought was coming to pick up some books at 2pm, and I wasted an hour waiting in for her, but she never came. Maybe a misunderstanding over the date, and she's come tomorrow instead??? I hope so, or the cake will be too much of a temptation for us! I did follow Valli's mantra, made 2 small ones rather than one big one, and have already put the other one away in the freezer.
The house is tidy and clean apart from the LR, where I shall take down DH's birthday cards tomorrow so that I can dust the mantlepiece and top of the bookshelves. He has a particularly lovely cut-out red dragon, which I am sure he will want to keep - but it will have to go in his mancave. I'm not having any dragons cluttering up our shared living space, they're too prone to flame throwing!
Tomorrow I have to be at K's house at 9.00. I should be taking with me a new-to-her blanket box which came via my neighbour, but I can't get it into DH's car by myself, both of us forgot to do it before it got dark today, and DH won't be up early enough in the morning. Saturday it shall be, then. I am fed up with it blocking the way through the utility to the back door.
I'm off to bed now. Sweet dreams to all xxx

Sorry to hear about your cat Slinky. Losing a much-loved pet is horrible.Hope you're feeling better tomorrow ValliYL - I hope that the result of your son's procedure is reassuring. This morning I walked to the end of the road and went to the butcher and the greengrocer and to Pret to buy a sandwich and a chocolate brownie for A's lunch. He likes their sandwiches and having one now and again is a change and is almost zero work for me. I came home and heated up a tin of scotch broth for us and then plated-up his sandwich and prepared something for myself. Received an email from the glove company attaching a returns label for the faulty gloves and saying they've sent a replacement. After washing up I put some towels on to wash and when they'd finished did TD x 3. I made a lime drizzle cake, then made tea and afterwards made some apple sauce for A to have with his pork chop for supper. Cooked supper, washed up and did a Waitrose order. I also gave eye A his meds on 6 occasions (yes, I managed to do all 6 today!)Time for bed now.

Aw Slinky - big hugs xx
Also to Valli xx And what's your fave sandwich from the Co-op please?
Flyladies please note: please do not mention your favourite anything and then not say what it is. I am very nosey / curious. I need to know these things. Thank you 😊
I was woken up by the alarm. Again. Taking bets on being wide awake at 6am at the weekend with no alarm due at 7am. Law of Sod. I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast, supped a brew, completed Wordle, completed Connections, and caught up with the thread.
Take care - especially if you get the forecast white stuff.

morning all
Chicken and bacon Caesar from the Italian range, Round. And I’ll not keep you in suspense next time. Sorry.
My trip to the theatre tonight is weather dependent, it’s in Steel City and we had planned to go by train. So far, though, all good. We have sleet, so what white stuff is mixed in with it is melting.
DW x 1
Plan to catch up with the ironing and do some admin today.

Hugs to Slinky.
I hope people aren't being too blasted by the wild weather. Mum has already rung me this morning on her mobile to say her land line isn't working, the weather is horrendous and she wouldn't blame me if I didn't drive down today. Apparently there are workmen in the road but the rain is so bad she can't see if they are telephone engineers or something else. Builder had made a good start on her front garden revamp on Wednesday but has had to admit defeat today because of the weather. Rather than go down after 6pm to minimise traffic holdups, I'm planning to go directly from my drumming lesson which finishes at 4pm and is about 5miles on the route to Mum's - not much off 138 miles I know - but at least I might get some of the journey in daylight (although there isn't much sign of that anyway at the moment!).
- bed stripped, bedding washed. Am resorting to using TD which I do about once a year, as it is so wet out and it's unlikely to dry on the rack easily. Bed re-made with clean stuff.
- pulverised the remains of last night's veg casserole to make soup for lunch today.
- packed
- messaged NDN with very sick husband just to let her know I'll be away for a couple of days. Latest medical news doesn't sound good; I knew he had an appt on Monday but hadn't caught up with results.
- washed up anything needing doing by hand and DW ready to go on as soon as I've had lunch.
Had a txt from Mr N yesterday, it had been in the high 30s so he is going to get a real shock when he lands here on Monday. I will be kind to him and put the heating on; I have managed not to use it (just once for an hour) while he's been away! Other lists haven't been quite so successful although it is all pretty clean and tidy apart from my study, and I have managed a few frogs from the lists while he was away.
I can't face ringing the insurance today, I'll do it next week!
Have started writing up yesterday's student which thankfully won't be a difficult one.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
