Hello all. Shame the weather is spoiling plans. It's snowing here, not really settling, but Poppet is annoyed she's not had her walk yet.
Paid stuff and most dailies done here. I've also made a chocolate cake.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
I was going to tidy in the girls room.. however.. the weather is disgusting so when my mother asked if I wanted to go to lunch i said yes.. then she will give me a lift to school to collect the girls.. and home again.. that is a win in my book!!
I have instead darned the holes in the socks I am wearing to keep my peeping toe tucked in and sewn up a banana!
I have looked at the budget.. waiting for COL payments (I have DS2's and Boogs too.. it is COL payment not 'new pc part' payment) to come in so I can play bill catch up and I have decided when I have paid off my credit card in about 3 weeks I am going to order a new front door and put that on there.. It desperately needs doing.. it is 135 years old and lets every bit of weather in.. no one needs that!! I have a couple of solar lights to go in there and will retile the floor with non-slip tiles.. the step is terracotta tiles and it is lethal. That is my plan.. it will save money in the long run and keep cats who can open the door and small children safe.. My main choice now is.. pale blue door? Red? Black??
OH loaded the DW earlier and I am finishing my cuppa and will go package 2 lots of books and maybe list a few more bits.. I think I will need all the pennies this year!!
Valli.. that sucks.. I hate changing plans, it takes a lot for me to make a decision to go somewhere.
Oh.. I found the owner of the provisional license so that is being posted today and DS2's new phone is being delivered.. he paid in full for it so his tariff remains at £6.83 a month!!

I'm sorry your theatre trip has been cancelled Valli. Can you rearrange it?Cold and damp with a bit of drizzle here this morning. After I was up and dressed I gave A his first eye drops then I printed off the return label for my gloves, parceled them up and took them to the post office, which is nearby, and bought the paper. A rang the GP about his shoulder, which is really painful now, and also about a problem he has with his toes. They normally say a GP will ring in the first instance but instead they gave him a face-to-face appointment for next Tuesday, which is good. The Waitrose order arrived so I put everything away.Despite having just been to the post office I decided to wrap and send the book that I bought last November for my friend but which I only received last week, as it had been miss-delivered. I took a bag of recycling down and then went on to the PO to post the book. I came back and made lunch gave the second lot of drops and am now going to wash up.8

Sorry you can't get to the theatre today, Valli.
It would be a nice change to have some snow here instead of the horrid rain, but at least we can still get from A to B, even if it involves a small detour to avoid a flood.

I spent all this morning with K, helping her to sort out her finances. One phonecall revealed that her situation is considerably worse than she had thought - though it is by no means the grimmest level of debt that I have heard of. This was her lightbulb moment: she is prepared to tackle it now and is already starting to make some sensible decisions, one small step at a time, about how to move forward. Time well spent, I believe.
Another friend eventually called round this afternoon to relieve me of the last of my decluttered books, and half of one of the GF chocolate orange cakes was devoured between the 3 of us, along with a good chat. I've received notice that payment is on its way for the books that I sold earlier in the weekA trip to the CS en route to Action Heart tomorrow will relieve me of two insulated jugs and various other treasures* that are currently sitting in the Donate box (*beauty is in the eye of the buyer!) - and that will mean more things crossed off my Toots list
The rain has eased now, so I will take Rosie out for her walk. Wellies and waterproofs at the ready!
Will catch up again later. Take care, everyone xxx7 -

CCL.. that is a fancy looking door! I am liking the teal one, the duckegg and the red. I don't want green I decided. I was looking at the design similar to your neighbours.

We had slushy snow all day - which made me a bit antsy about whether to leave work early or not. But it turned to rain and roads were wet and dirty for the drive home. Pelting down with sleet as I pulled into the drive.
I'm now cabinned in : scruffs on, heating on, curtains closed, and a coffee by my side. I FUPA the tea towels that had dried on the kitchen radiator - that's the sum total of flying.
Thank you Valli ❤. Sorry to hear your outing was cancelled. I suspect you have had proper snow down your neck of the woods.
Everyone stay toasty and dry.
