A couple of wholemeal rolls, with sliced roast beef and a huge pile of salad, all reduced in the local shop. Would probably have cost about £2 full price but I don't buy the beef full priceA couple of oaty biscuits from a packet of Nairns biscuits, for either a treat or that low-energy point in the afternoon.I am retired but still like a planned lunch. On another day, a huge pile of salad, a couple of apples, and two duck spring rolls from a packet of ten bought at Aldi after Christmas. Maybe £1?4

I'm WFH today so it will be a bowl of home made leek and potato soup. I'm in the office tomorrow and I will be taking (a) sistema clip top bowl of pre-soaked porridge which I will heat in the microwave at work for breakfast, (b) a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich and a yogurt for lunch.
I would normally take something like a small pot of mixed nuts or a couple of biscuits to snack on (I am a grazer!) but tomorrow is our fortnightly coffee and cake morning at work where they provide a selection of (free) cakes, biscuits and hot drinks in the communal kitchen as a sort of regular team bonding exercise. There is no fruit on my lunch list as we have that supplied free at work too.6 -

This week's lunches...
Pitta pocket with tuna and sweetcorn - pitta 50p for 4, half tin tuna 80p a tin, plus mayo and sweetcorn pennies really - 60p?
Left over sausage chopped into a pasta salad - guesstimate 50p
Chicken salad pitta - chicken is leftover from a roast a couple of weeks ago (been in the freezer), salad made with the pasta above in mind - again maybe 50p
Flask of soup and a homemade roll - I don't make my own soup often, so 80p plus roll, maybe £1
Beans on toast (we have a toaster and microwave at work) - 50p
Each day I'll have a piece of fruit or carrot/cucumber batons as well - 30p?
Plus a bag of crisps/ penguin type biscuit/ home made cake/ flapjack so another 30p
I drink water during the day at work but keep a bottle of squash in my drawer so I can have flavour if I choose. Once a week I have a can of fizzy, but I buy a 6 pack (also in my drawer) so works out 30p a can.
All in all it seems this week is around £6.50 for 5 days.3 -

I have just made my lunches for Tuesday and Wednesday as I'm in the office.
I have the same both days. A wholemeal roll and tuna and mayo. With 2 baby cucumbers.
A mug of soup. (Made Sunday)
Rolls were 4 for 40p and tuna was £1.20.
The cucumbers were 6 for £1.
I have a breakaway bar for the afternoon if I feel peckish. So 10p as I bought 20 for £2.
I'm out of bananas otherwise I would have taken them instead.
I think lunch and snacks are less than £1.50 per day.2 -
I was in the office today so took a microwaveable mug of homemade pea and leek soup (which costs 50-75p per portion), a cheese topped roll from a pack of 4 (35p), a kiwi (25p) and a cereal bar (20p).3

I have the last of Sunday’s gammon today, so another gammon, pickle and lettuce sandwich. I’ve mixed up the ‘sides’ today so I have a small bag of popcorn and a banana. Then ‘emergency’ snacks in the office locker as normal. Yesterday I had an apple mini-soreen from that stash.3

Today (Tuesday) will be some millet porridge with oat milk and raspberries. Raspberries are from Waitrose, discounted by 75%, so the total cost is around 75p. Oat milk is kept in a communal fridge.
