Hey everyone how are you?
Well I’m not going to lie, I still feel horrendous. I’m working from home today so think I will just do what needs to be done and lay on the sofa for the rest of the day. (Edited: boss is actually working today so think I may have to work all day or go sick, sigh, I’ll see how I feel). I do need to do some washing and really need to make some banana bread as the bananas are starting to smell as they’re quite black, but think I will just put them in the fridge until Sunday.
Had lots of errands to do today but just not feeling up to it. I think I will spend the evening meal planning etc instead.
Need to take the decs down but will leave that until another day.Yesterday was a no spend day. Think today will be too. Going to make stew for dinner as have lots of veg.3 -
You'd be better freezing the bananas rather than just putting them in the fridge. Putting them in the fridge will make them go even blacker!1

Hope you feel better soon, Missy. I'd call in sick if I were you. That's what sick leave is for. Better to rest now so you feel better sooner, rather than just keep pushing through and getting worse.Live the good life where you have been planted.

Hope you feel better soon. Consider going sick, it will only drag out otherwise (though I know I always muddle on, so understand that too)."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Thanks everyone, I haven’t had a sick day in 3 years as it’s just not what I do. And with everyone fighting for jobs etc at the moment, I will just push through. It’s not too bad, I am at home where I am warm and have coffee.I’ve just dropped the children off at their dads and have put some washing on. Doing some work then will put the stew on about lunch time. Think I could do with emptying the fridge and putting my clothes away as have a huge basket full of clothes and I’ve made the children put theirs away. I do feel vaguely more human, now I’ve been up a while and had coffee. I might make myself some porridge.Need to find my bank card so I can pay the children’s Christmas cash money into the post office. They’ve already spent it but I paid it out of my bank account. But that’s a job for tomorrow.3

Good morning,
Yesterday ended up being a NSD. The stew was nice for dinner and used up lots of the veg. I am still poorly, it’s been a week now, apparently the children’s dad and his wife now have it too. So that’s not the best so he’s asked me to have the children all weekend. Which is fine but he seems to forget I’m ill too! I really need to be better for work next week. Am working from home again today but just the morning, so shouldn’t be too bad as long as no one asked me to put my camera on in a meeting.
i have done my Sainsbury’s order for Sunday but I need to make some tweaks to it. I’ll write my menu plan down for you to see. We’re trying to be a lot more healthy, oh on that note, 2 of OH’s tests came back clear which is amazing but he needs a retest on another and he’s been referred for something else. Which is all better news than before. I have family private healthcare that I pay for through work but I have no idea how to use it. So I need to figure that out. Food wise we just need to up the veg content as I’m rubbish at eating fruit during the day so having veg packed dinner will help.
Money saving wise: Yesterday was productive in the fact I was going to order more storage for my wardrobe but I found some extra over door pockets that I’d cut off another storage thing and I sewed them on and now have 4 extra storage compartments that I desperately need. So no money spent there! Now to sort out the mountain of washing I didn’t do yesterday. Well, after work. Also Roo’s PE bag has seen better days, but I washed it in stain remover yesterday and it’s come up
much better and I just need to see on the strap that has come off too. Being more
mindful is really highlighting how easily I usually just spend money without realising!@jodenise I did indeed freeze the bananas as didn’t have time for banana bread. One thing I did do yesterday is empty all the stuff that needed to be binned out of the fridge (I was very pleased there was very little) and I remembered to put the bin out, so that’s something.
So that’s it for now. Will pop back later. Loving this for keepin me on the straight and narrow. Will try and catch up with some diaries this afternoon.2 -
Great news about OH's tests! Hope you feel better soon."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Hope you feel better and well done for saying no to the false nails/sewing machine and making do /mend rather than buy more.
We all on a be more frugal, spend on what gives us joy here
On the toiletries /buying more I gathered all mine into sections - hair, body, face creams/potions, makeup and was shocked how much stuff, half opened I had. Having it all bunched together in groups just shows you the excess (8 serums, 5 half used shampoos... you get the picture)
So i have been deliberately using down things before I replace them and even if I dont have my fav cream left I use the ones i have instead of automatically replacing them.
It has saved me loads last year and I still seem to have a lot to go through. I also get excited when I am at the end of a product (til I then cut it open and realise loads more left to get through).
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Hi,
I hope you’re all ok.
i wrote a big long post yesterday but it disappeared! So I have spent money. Budgeted for on some things but not in others. I did save 4p a litre on fuel by going to a particular garage. I only spent £48 on the shopping. I spent £10 of the clothes budget on 2 pairs of trousers for Roo on Vinted. I did have to pay £28 on a subscription I didn’t realise hadn’t been paid and we need to have. I bought 2 books for £9 instead of £40. They’re books my sister has and I looked through them when I visited on Friday and saw lots of healthy recipes I’d like to make. They were super expensive on @mazon but I got them second hand on the bay of E. And I also bought a stool…. I didn’t have the budget but I’m sick of standing up when the children are eating and OH is away. I can’t be bothered to pull out the table and set it every time. So everyone eats at the breakfast bar, so now I will be able to too.I’m still poorly and sleeping on the sofa. So will
work from home tomorrow.Good things about this weekend I have finally used my bread maker trying the more non UPF lifestyle. I have made 2 loaves of bread and 2 lots of yogurt. And they’re good! I’ve not brought take away or coffee, which I really wanted to as I’ve not felt great. But I made pasta bake with left over Xmas ham from the freezer and I’ve just made chilli which will last today and tomorrow.Meal plan:Mon chilli / burritos
Tue carbonara
Wed pizza
Thur curry
Fri enchilada
Sat chicken veg pie and mash
Sun chicken shawarma
