Oh question, I need to send some things back to Amazon. I’ve done the returns thing on the app, do I need to box them up or pack them or do I just hand the item over to the post office? FOr instance one is a book that is damaged do I just hand them the book and let them blip the QR code thing on the app then they wrap them/box them. Or do I need to box it up and print it off etc? Any help would be appreciated.

You need to pack it up.  They'll put the label on it.

I have something to return & I had to get someone to print the label for me. Can no longer take it to shop for them to do it.

Thank you both. Not having the best day. Managed to get scammed when I bought something online have reported it to PayPal but am £67 down. More
than a bit sad and gutted. So can’t guarantee I’ll get that back, had issues with trying to claim something from PayPal in the past but I will ring them tomorrow as not happy about the automated system I raised the claim on.

Ok so it’s the middle of the month. I have worked out how much I need for fuel to last. And I think I can bring the Sunday shop in at £25 (have put everything into Sainsbury’s basket).

I need to save £470 for business payments. Have put aside £1000 last month for tax of which I’m hoping I won’t need all of but might be more I don’t know at this point. I was hoping to save another £500 towards holiday but I think that’s doubtful, but I will keep plugging away and see what I can save. Have £260 I need to invoice for but can’t until the end of the month. Also need to claim back £9 from expenses. And take the Amazonia bits to post office which will refund £46. So part of the way there.

Still have some direct debits to come out. The big ones come out at the beginning of the month thankfully.

Anyway so meal plan for the next 2 weeks including yesterday:

    Spaghetti - Monday

    Pasta bolognaise - Tuesday

    Chicken shawarma - Wednesday

    Chicken teriyaki - Thursday

    Chicken Raisakuree- Friday

    Out - Saturday

    Chicken pie - Sun

    Cowboy stew mon

    Stew Tue

    Pizza Wednesday

    Stuffing stew pie - Thursday

    Lasagne - Friday

    Curry - Saturday

    Shep pie - Sunday

    Good morning!

Time to check in. I want to think you for your advice on the car. I have taken it on board and had a good old think and done some research with OH and we have decided to keep the car, we are going to get a tow bar fitted next week and there are 2 potential things that can go wrong with that model and when they do it’s v v costly. So OH has found somewhere that can replace them before they go wrong and cause much bigger problems, it will cost approx £2300. But much better than paying £7000 more for a car that is the same age as mine with more mileage?! So thank you for your thoughts on that.

i haven’t spent any money on food at work this week which I am very happy about. Food shop has lasted well. Although I miscalculated how much chicken I had and now don’t have any for Sunday so will have to be creative with Sundays food….

I have been doing lots of thinking and planning and number crunching.

I NEED to do my tax return this weekend to realise how much tax I’m going to pay. Just realised I’ll need to pay the accountant too. We do want to take the children away in April so there is that money to save plus the tow bar, plus the car fixes. So I’ll update those shortly.

Then I’ve been looking at when we come to remortgage next year and what will change then and how much we can pay down the mortgage in the mean time. Also what I want to do with the house in that time and what I’ll do with the money instead of paying for my car loan when it’s up in 2026.

So all productive thoughts, I will write more in my next post with values and timescales and things.

Made teriaki chicken last night, it was so good!

Right should probably switch my laptop on as working from home today.

That's great news about the car, glad you've found a solution.  It will leave you in a better position for remortgaging next year too :)

Well done on not spending as well :)

What make and model of car is it? If it's that bad surely they should be on recall?

Try not to get too disheartened, sometimes you just get these things all coming together x

    Sending love Missy.

Re the car, it seems a very extreme problem but you know what’s best for your life. Best to try to prioritise reputable makes for the next car as you’ve really not had it long and hopefully the next car will last you a few years.

It is tough when a few things go wrong at once, sorry to hear your neighbour is cross with you and your kids had a warning at school. These things happen ❤️.

Re work. Can you work from home with the kids there and then avoid the need for childcare? I do that and it works absolutely fine, and my kids are a few years younger than yours. My work are understanding and find with me WFH more often in the holidays, if you are meant to be in the office a lot I know this may not be possible. I don’t do it for more than a couple of days a week as feel it’s unfair on the kids not getting out in the holidays, but it works grand for the odd day. Failing that, I guess that’s what holiday clubs are for though annoying to pay out if you hadn’t planned to.
