Hello @uralmaid. Catching up on your thread after my holiday, don’t think I will be having any more until May 25 unless I see a real bargain I fancy.
Hope you are pleased with your decorating and your new furniture has arrived.
I was hoping to have a couple of weeks of saving but tried a perfume on in the airport I really liked plus ordered a silver necklace from John Lewis and some Hobbs dresses in the sale, though wouldn’t be surprised if they all go back:#.
    Will try harder next month……….

  • @uralmaid we are hoping to begin decorating over the next few weeks.  I just need to choose paint colours and that may take some time.

@bluenose1 some good bargains to be had in the current M@S sale.
  • Thanks @bluenose1 and @Humboldt.  The new furniture arrived and is really good quality. The delivery company chaps were very good. They were courteous and friendly too.  Definitely need to slow down on the spending.
I decided that as we had spent on the new motorcycle then I needed some new motorcycle clothing as my current stuff is at least 15 years old and getting a bit snug.  After numerous visits to the shops I got a jacket which is good for all seasons. The trousers are a different matter.  Tried on lots of different makes.  They definitely do not match their sizing labels.  I also am vertically challenged so need short length.  I ordered 2 pairs online the same style and make but in different sizes.  When they arrived the delivery stated that they were but the actual 2 pairs were the right brand but different styles and neither fit me.  The problem is that one pair was £30 less than the other but I had paid the higher price on both so I was concerned that if I just returned them by courier they would think something was not right. Had a lengthy chat with customer services who were brilliant and apologised profusely.  He has marked on the order the problem. I have decided to go down to the actual store to take them back in person (40 miles away).  I shall also try on some others whilst there and hopefully find some to fit. I live in hope. @Humbolt - I am sure you will know the right colour when you see it! Happy hunting.

  • Hi @uralmaid I hope that you had a good weekend.  Yesterday we decided to make the most of a dry day and replaced the roof felt on the summerhouse.  Hopefully it will now be watertight for a few more years.  According to the weather forecast we are due to have a couple of sunny days towards the end of this week, if this is the case, I will be putting the garden to bed for the winter season.

I hope that you managed to purchase some new motorcycling clothing. I still haven't made a decision on paint colours for decorating...
  • Hi Humboldt. We got hoe from our trip on Saturday. Did all the washing and got it dried.  Sunday we decided to re-arrange the living/dining room. It is a large room with stairs at one end. It never seemed to feel cosy so we moved the sofa etc into the dining end and the dining table etc into the living end if that makes sense.  Really need a smaller sofa as the current one is 9ft long and very deep, but we paid thousands for it (leather). Tried advertising it for a quarter of what we paid for it but had no takers so not sure what to do.  I bet you were glad to get the roof done.  There's always some job needs doing isn't there?  Today the weather here has been none stop rain and chilly.  The start of things to come. Our garden is not too bad at the moment but the next thing we will have to contend with is the flippin Sycamore seeds.  We have a row of them which divides us and next door and they have a tree conservation order so can't get rid of them.  Last year there were literally hundreds of the seeds.  We try and collect as many as we can but there are always some which hid and the next thing there are loads of little one growing.  Yes I did get some new motorcycle clothing thank goodness.  Hope you manage to decide on the paint soon.

And now back from a lovely but not very relaxing holiday in Barcelona. Was already feeling in need of a holiday to recover, but then spent 14 hours getting not quite home via a visit to MIL. Over half of that was negotiating Sunday trains ...

We have a large living room as well @uralmaid and I keep debating moving the sofas, though would have to have the sky box moved and haven’t got the will at the moment.
Will be interested to know what you do with your sofa etc. our new sofas are comfortable but I think if I had my time again I wouldn’t have chosen them. Though as they cost a small fortune not telling my husband that!!!!
Was drizzled  here this morning but brightened up so got the washing on the line, don’t think there will be many more days like that this year  unfortunately.

Don’t envy you that journey @Savvysue, that journey’ time is nearly as long as when we go to Florida. Feel like I am only getting over my jet lag now after a few weeks. We went to Barcelona a couple of years ago and like most of our city breaks felt like another more relaxing holiday would be nice afterwards. Though I get fed up with just beach holidays so nice to get a balance when I can.
