You need to find a red diesel pump0

Current price is 77p for red Diesel, cheaper than the price of heating oil At the pump, But until you find a red Diesel pump you won't know the actual price you can get.

When I got back I rang them to ask them how much they charge for it
They said 86p plus vat on the pump and 82p bulk delivery
I asked them before a few week ago and was quoted 67p and asked why the hike and just a load of BS from the sales rep.
Anyone ells being ripped off by this price or can i get it for less?

My experience is that Red from a forecourt pump is more expensive than bulk heating oil. Last time I paid £1.11 /litre. At that time hesting oil was 74.5p.0

OP, you are really confusing people by mixing up bulk / mains services and small batch / off grid which you need.
Why can't you be specific as you have been asked to be several times over your random threads.
What is this trailer? Do you mean a mobile home in a fixed location, a caravan which is mobile, a Camper van?0 -

Which would explain why they're buying just a small quantity of fuel "at the pump".CliveOfIndia said:If that's the case then it's a whole different ball-game to those of us buying oil in bulk for central heating. You aren't going to get the cheaper price that comes from buying in bulk - and I suspect you'll also be paying the full rate of tax and VAT since it's not being used for domestic heating. This is where it gets confusing. Certainly if you buy oil in bulk that's destined specifically for domestic heating (like those of us that have standard oil boilers for our central heating) then the VAT rate is 5%. Must admit I'm not sure on what other taxes are levied - but a litre of bulk domestic heating oil is substantially less than a litre of diesel for your car at a garage forecourt (I know it's not exactly the same stuff, but it's near enough for comparison purposes). Plus there'll be a slight discount because you're buying in bulk - e.g. 1000 litres at a time instead of 50 litres to fill up your car. What I don't know is what the rules are on buying small quantities to heat a caravan or similar. I'm guessing it wouldn't be considered "domestic heating", but I may be wrong. But then again, if it's a static caravan and is your sole residence, who knows? As others have mentioned, if you can get friendly with a local farmer then you may potentially be able to buy a bit of red diesel off them. No idea on the legalities of this, but it's a potential option to consider.
