Aren't Next infamous for bringing out the trashy clothes that they didn't sell 3 years previously? Get a life and enjoy a day having quality time with your 3 yr old instead of traipsing around tatty sale stores with other likeminded brainwashed muppets who want to save £5 on 3year old fashions.Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

I wouldn't go in at 5 am but some people have no choice but to buy sale items as they are unable to afford full priced items.
I personally would rather work part time and buy my kids what they need and no more, than work full time to waist my money on what they don't really need and miss them growing up.
You can't of been to a next sale as very little is £5 off its normally a good reduction 50% on most items - Debenhams is the one that knocks 20% off.0 -
Why is the next sale getting so many negative comments? I don't go to any other sales but make sure I can get to this one as it is a really good sale with good quality stuff for sale inc homewares! Can't wait till the morning!:j0

i could not agree more, people on here make me laugh with the ''quality quote'' Next cloths are tat, press cut so you have to pick up 3 sizes to see which 1 fits.... kids stuff are cheap but not good quality. i always get my sons trainers and coat out of the sales but don't rush down on the 1st day....0 -
I don't go at 5 am as try to shop online. I think it's up to you to decide whether it's worth it. People saying you are wasting time on tat are talking rubbish. Next is better quality than most high street stores and sale prices which reflect a 50% deduction are very good value for money. I understand why people go, especially if you have a large family. They might have few odd past season items but rarely as that usually ends up at the clearance stores. Most of the current Next Directory is half price so that is a genuine sale in my opinion. I went into Debenhams today and walked out as it was heaving with bodies and there were only a few half price rails. Might be crazy but maybe it's the right idea to get up at 5am and be home by 7 or 8 am when you can be home to make breakfast for your kids (if they are being looked after by the other half). Then you'll have the whole day ahead to spend quality time with them rather than traipsing around the mall shop after shop trying to find what you need and buying what you don't. :cool:0

You are right you get what you pay for - but for kids its ideal and at least the people that go on the first day get what they want and not the 30 bright orange coats and trainers noone wants.
Comparing NEXT with high street stores they are better quality, Primark is tat, Debenhams is overpriced, M&S the sizing is terrible and bad quality.
What do you remember as a kid the designer jeans or the trip to the beach?0 -

Spend tomorrow with your kids doing something fun instead. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
Personally, I have previously bought Next items and they have been reasonable quality for me to wear at work. But the last couple of years I decided to make them last a bit longer and thus successfully avoided going in the Next sale at all as I pulled out a new suit only when I had an important meeting with the previous suits not looking their best but still useful for everyday wear in the office. I must say that I did very clearly notice when Next started wheeling out previous seasons unsold clothes - no point in buying these at all as they are due to be even cheaper once they hit the clearance outlet! May as well go straight there for that stuff, eh?
I would say, by all means go to the Next sale, er..not so sure about 5am though..., if you please or better still enjoy precious xams hols well away from the Next sale but if you do get yourself a bargain then ensure it is something you will get very good use out of - else see if you can still use your old stuff until next year even in true MSE style!
Also worth mentioning that purchases made at lousy interest rates are not a bargain at all (my little sis included) - so steer clear if you have debts as you can surely live without that "next" purchase - that way you'll have so much more to spend once debt is repaid - just without the stress of the debt burden!
PS Like the last person, I also find Asda clothing super value for money.0 -
I have a better idea, when it's warm enough outside just go around naked to protest against profiteering "fashion" companies, and also to make the point that you don't need Next, Ralph Lauren, Florence and Fred, River Island, or whatever emblazoned across your body to look good.
This has to be the best money saving idea yet!0
