You can't of been to a next sale as very little is £5 off its normally a good reduction 50% on most items - Debenhams is the one that knocks 20% off.

You ever heard of figurative speech? :rotfl:
What if the tat was £10 originally and there was £5 off? :p:eek: ]

Like I said go and enjoy your day with the kids and forget the consumerism nonsense thats taking over your brain.
Happiness is wanting what you have, not having what you want.

    You mean "can't have" surely?

Aren't Next infamous for bringing out the trashy clothes that they didn't sell 3 years previously? Get a life and enjoy a day having quality time with your 3 yr old instead of traipsing around tatty sale stores with other likeminded brainwashed muppets who want to save £5 on 3year old fashions.

Lol...somewhat of a sweeping statement, surely? I don't work which basically means two things...1)Hubby's income has to feed and clothe four of us, which is why I need to do most of my shopping in the sales and 2)I get plenty quality time with the kids, belive me, and it's nice to let their dad have them to himself for a day. He gets two weeks off over Christmas anyway, so we've got tons of family time. I like getting out for a day round the shops at sale time....rarely do it any other time. Can't afford Next normally, so don't bother.

I like Next and M&S clothes because they just so happen to fit my and my family's body shapes, unlike some other high street brands. I brought home a dozen items for me today which of course I couldn't try on before I bought them, but they all fit me just fine even though I had to buy them by label size. And quality is as good as most other high street shops IMHO, and better than supermarket clothes by a loooong way.

The stuff you get in the sales is NOT the same stuff as they had in before Christmas. They bring in the things from their catalogue that didn't sell well.

Put it this way, if you have such little money that you feel the need to save it, there's cheaper better clothes to pilfer your husband's money away on. If it's a case of trying clothes of a different cut on that takes about 20 minutes of your time at most and will save you more money.
  • I know the stuff they sell in their xmas sale is stuff that has been full price before xmas, 2 years on the trot at one out of town store I have been looking for an extra gift for hubby and gone in there only to see half price prices penciled on the back of the tags and the red dots already in place on the labels...I complained both times and have said who will now buy that for an xmas gift..and left empty handed so it really isnt all old stuff, i think during the spring sale and sometimes the summer ones it is though.

it is only one day of something different, i can afford to buy full price next but get a personal thrill out of getting it for half the price...and anyways when you buy stuff for half price you can stock up for the rest of the year..they always have t shirts as well etc and that frees up expense later on in the year to help fund family days out on the beach or holidays etc
  • I had my VIP slot for Saturday just gone so i've done all my Next sale shopping :)

I am looking forwards to the M&S one though as DH works for them and we get a 20% discount on top of the sale prices!

I have been to the next sale already ! I got to the Croydon Store at 5am this morning, rushed around, got loads of bits and got back by 5.35, is that a record. The shop was manic. When they opened the shutters up, people were crawling underneath to get in quicker (mad or what) and apparently someone got stuck. The sale was good but you would think they were giving it away free the way some people were acting.:p
