Hi All
I am going to make the red onion gravy (SW Mag) it says use 3/4 pint of stock made with Bovril...I have bought the bovril (jar) but as a novice bovril user i have no idea how much i should be using of it....any ideas please?????
Mel xUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -
bovril, hmm depends how strong you like it, i use 2 teaspoons (proper teaspoons, not them measuring ones) and that makes a great rich stock. hth

(((Poodlehorse))) Sod her, come sit with me in the DIY corner! :hello:
I'm doing it at home and I'm doing all right, though it's taken me eight weeks to lose what Doorstep's lost in in one!
DH is starting to take an interest; he's noticed a difference in me, and we had a constructive discussion about SW while I was sat opposite him at lunchtime, stuffing myself stupid on wholemeal toast, poached eggs and baked beans (had a Lasting Satisfaction after, and haven't even THOUGHT about food till now)
He's out this evening, but I wonder what he'd make of what's in my pasta bowl now? I cooked a packet of Tesco Value Tomato and Onion pasta in sauce, while that was doing I fried off half an onion, a couple of mushrooms, bit of courgette and a bit of orange pepper (in Frylight), threw the whole lot into the pasta pan and added a HEB portion of prawns, mixed it all up and bunged it under the grill with some low-fat mozarella on top, looking at it now I seriously doubt I'm going to be able to eat it all!
I've stopped looking for snacky stuff, which can only be good. I bought myself a 10-pack of Tesco's "Wild & Whippy" fun-size choccy bars (like Milky Way), and I've had a couple over the last few days, but there's no craving now. Having a hacking cough may be killing my appetite, so we'll see how it goes when I feel better.0 -
were all coming around to yours for dinner the sauces sound , fab , will try them this week .
well off to get weighed and i hate this part of the diet , i get so wound up before i go and dread it , if i havnt loss this week im not going back to class ,ill just weigh myself at boots , once a week and stay on this thread0 -
samobi - 4 ryvita original or just 2 to make it a 'speed' food.
Peachyest you've just missed the sausage, egg, bacon and baked bean 'fry' up but I'll be doing pasta later in the week
Good luck at weigh in - I've just weighed myself again and not happy  considering I've been so good, but official weigh in tomorrow night.0 -

who knows peachyest - I've been better this week than I have n months and according to the scales I lost 2lbs, then have put 4.5lbs back on! My scales are usually reflective of the SW scales now. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong other than a few choccies last night (well it was my birthday) but only barely over my syns - if at all! Is there a stamp my feet icon? :rotfl: Its so disheartening to think I could have just done SW half-heartedly and probably maintained or lost 1lb
