If I'm having rice I use the Bachelors Savoury Rice, you can get them in a few different flavours. I'm sure they are free on a green day. I only do green days being a veggie.
Just made a spinach and mustard seed sauce from the saucy secrets book which was lovely but I've got quite a bit of coconut milk left over Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with it? Thanks0 -
starjumper - what about the free egg fried rice? Can't help with pilau I'm afraid!0

Good evening
Been shopping and bought Ainsley Harriots savoury basmati rice, never had it before and on line it says that it is 1/2 syn per 100 gr cooked. the packet says it contains two servings, without weighing it when cooked, do you think that the whole packet is 1 syn? IYSWIM?
No you can't assume this - Ainsley doesn't know that a SW serving is 100g! His quantity could be double that.0 -
Joined SW last night for my second time and felt very welcomed.... thanks girls if you are here  As you can imagine, I had the shock of my life when I stood on the scales as I really didnt think I weighed as much as that!! Especially seeing as I bought the best scales in the world before I joined which said that I was 5 stone 4lb. I will lend them out to anyone for motivational purposes only. :rotfl:
Had a good start on my first day, no picking at naughty stuff but was suprised that twiglets were so high in syns.
Going to try making lasagne crips (first night and we had a tasting evening, what a good start). They were delish and I could easily swap them for normal crisps if feeling the need, as us girls do on an hourly basis from time to time:o
Already doing my old faithful Jane Fonda Original Workout from 1982. Love the good old 80's look with cheesy leg warmer and Jane looks great.
Joined with my mum and I want to try my best to lose 2 stone before I go on holiday with her to Lanzarote later this year..... the gloves are off mum.... the race is on!!
Good luck to all

Hi, welcome if you have just joined the thread. Any chance you could share the recipe for lasagne crisps, I am waiting for my crisp maker to arrive from Ebay, but really want a packet of crisps tonightYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
I know how you feel - I was shocked when I got on the scales in Jan. I was convincing myself for 2 months before that that my weight was fine because I'd just had a baby and was nothing to do with the fact that I ate a Greggs custard donut just about every day I was pregnant! I've found that my weight loss is better when I dont have a lot of bread - fruit with a mullerlight yoghurt for brekkie and pasta for lunch seems to work ok for me. Lost 6 1/2lbs so far this month. Only another 22 1/2 to go!!!!0

can anyone tell me (i'm having a moment) to make croutons for soup, can i just toast my heb bread and cut into squares. or is there another way.
You could try frying little cubes of bread in Frylight - they would be more like croutons than toast.
Alternatively, cut the bread into cubes, lay them on an oven tray, spray with FryLight and cook in a medium oven till they go brown and crisp.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Not tried making them myself yet but I was told to par boil lasagne strips then drain them and but them in half and then into triangles. Spray with fry light and sprinkle with salt, pepper, (onion salt or anything else you fancy for flavour) and then put in the oven on gas mark 4-5 for about 20 mins but I have been warned that you have to keep a close eye on them as they turn from good to burnt in no time at all!!!! I am sure I will take several attempts to conquer this as I am a terrible cook!
Let me know how you get on0 -
By the way, i have been told by another SW attendee that if you change the consistency of any foods, they can become a Syn, like "smoothies" etc...
The only problem with changing the consistency of foods comes from making fresh fruit into smoothies. There are no other foods that I can think of which become synned in this way, apart from the misuse of various foods which makes them synnable (eg: lasagne crisps constitutes misuse of pasta, making cakes from couscous and polenta also falls into this category).
With smoothies, despite the common myth that the sugars are altered, the actual reason they have to be synned is because you consume far too much fruit without getting the benefit of the chewing involved with whole fruit (which helps you to feel full) and the fact that you're not getting the fibre from the peel.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
