More WM, some dry off the line, some on heated airer. Huge weeding job finally worked on. Sweep and mop downstairs, washed up, nice long shower to try to get rid of gardening-induced hip pain.
Coats are still on the table thoughMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Evening all, and Happy Birthday to Fayolle's DD x
Round, I'm glad you're enjoying your new work, and hope your DB is improving and your DSiL regaining her equilibrium xx
Narc0, if you feel the need to talk to someone as mad as yourself (or nearly so?) you have my number! x
I hope you managed to concentrate on your paid work today, ASB, without worrying about children or animals x
Things are moving on slowly here. Basic flying gets done every day, and I'm very grateful to K who does the bits I can't manage. I've been doing some admin tasks and gradually whittling down my lists. My gardening friend J picked the right day to come - when the storm was spent and the sun shone for a while - and has spent 2 hours here this afternoon, taking down the Christmas lights (which haven't been on since Twelfth Night) and deadheading the back borders: there was no need to mow the lawn, but it all looks a lot better.
I had a lovely long cuppa/chat yesterday with a younger friend who I haven't had a chance to talk to for ages, and we were each able to help the other in some way. I've also made two phonecalls in the past 24 hours to older friends and caught up with their family news.
The person who was coming to collect a big pile of books last Wednesday and had to rearrange for today has unfortunately not turned up, but I expect it just slipped her mind and I must learn to be patient!
DH is feeling better than he did last week, Rosie is fine and currently snoring under the piano stool, and I am slowly making plans for a bit more social life, now that we only have a week left in January and then it's just a month until Spring arrives
(((Hugs))) to all in need and love to all xxx8 -
Well the builder turned up and we now have a plan for them to do some remedial work to stop damp getting in above the kitchen window.

Hello everyone
Hugs to all the poorlies.
Re the automatic car... The first car I drove after passing my test (47 years ago!) was a Reliant Robin (RR) three-wheeler (I'd previously driven a motorbike but never took my test on that). It was the ideal car for my new husband and I as he'd passed his motorbike test and I'd passed my car test (at that time, a full motorbike licence allowed you to drive a RR unaccompanied and without L-plates). A couple of years later, we bought me a Singer Vogue (lovely car with a big bench front seat, well-varnished walnut dashboard etc. still remember the reg - 631 NPO so quite vintage!) but it was automatic so I learned to sit on my left leg to stop me trying to activate the clutch which would have meant I pressed the brake! I've not driven an automatic since but thanks for reminding me of the fun times we had with that car and the three-wheeler!
Haven't done a lot today because I had a bad night with dreams and wakefulness etc so I woke up tired. However, I did take delivery of the Mr T order and have put that away.
But, biggest thing achieved today is, about 14 years ago I got into financial difficulties due to changes in employment and earnings etc. (feel free to flame me but I feel I have done incredibly well in what was a dire situation then where I could have lost my home, but I still have it and the mortgage was paid off a while ago) and ended up on a debt management plan (to the tune of around £37,000 owing) where interest was frozen and I set up a budget each year with my creditors with the assistance of Payplan who managed the interaction between the creditors and me.
It has got to the point where money is available for me to pay off the remaining debts given I've now retired and am on a smaller income, as long as some partial settlements are agreed. The lovely lady from Payplan has, today, confirmed those partial settlements will fall within the available budget so, within the next few days, I will be totally debt free.
It just feels so good to know that will be all cleared by the end of the week and I'll be debt-free after so long having to manage it (with help!) and it hanging over my head. And no - that situation will never arise again!
Sorry if that seems to be off-topic, but in my view, it counts as a decent financial declutter! And I want to celebrate it...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Well done @soappie that's a fantastic achievement. You will feel liberated.I had an automatic car for three years. It seemed weird at first but you soon get used to it. When I went back to a manual that then seemed weird for a while.Very little flying done today as I took A out for a lunch to celebrate his birthday. I pressed two pairs of trousers and washed up some dishes but that's it I think.Someone sorry, can't remember who) said they had had a sheep webinar - that sounds incredible to a townie like me.10

@soappie That is fantastic! Well done
definitely no shaming here, we went bankrupt in 2009, that's what led me to MSE in the first place
More washing out, may rain but oh well. Some dry put away. Ready for bed already and it's only 9:15pmMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

Well done soappie! In my book that counts as decluttering a ginormous frog, and it's absolutely worth celebrating
xx
And with celebrations in mind, Happy Birthday to A. CoG, I hope you both enjoyed your lunch and no washing up afterwards!8 -

Well done Soappie that is a great achievement.
I've finished the latest pair of gloves.
Done a bit more of the jigsaw.
Done a bit more of the report.
Done some drumming practice.
Done some very minor tidying.
emailed some friends (it was on my list)
Had a go at the wall Pilates. OK but not the exercises I've seen flashing up on FB, will keep going but maybe find another free video.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
that’s brilliant Soappie and it IS flying as you have decluttered a neck albatross…
DD brought the washing in which has now been ironed and draped on the maidens. WUALTD, DW and WM primed. Blue bin out.
At work I have dealt with lost property inc a Doro phone…found owner by ringing ‘mum’, so that’s sorted and should be picked up. We’ve also had a door key handed in, probably a young persons, local schools contacted and social media posts created. Flytipped box of videos binned.
Been to Mr L as won a £10 voucher which expired today
Knitting project started for new baby of former colleague.

Thank you. Perhaps I should have offered to wash up in exchange for a reduction in the bill. Let's face it, I'm highly experienced.9
