Evening all
Hope you are all coping with the weather this evening - it's a bit blowy out the back at the moment but nothing particularly to worry about at this moment in time where I am... Thoughts and prayers with those of you who may be in more tricky weather situations...
Had a log delivery at lunchtime today which meant moving things about this morning and getting the car off the drive and opening gates so the delivery company could access my log store etc.. They did a brilliant job as usual and I now have four heavily laden bags full of kiln-dried logs under a tarpaulin in my side yard ready for me to fuel the fire over the next few weeks.
Did my Mr T order ready to be delivered tomoz.
Had an unexpected text at lunchtime from DS who caught the early train to London today for work asking if I could check a delivery that was expected tomoz but he had been notified arrived today. As some of you may remember, he lives next door to me... Sure enough, when I went to check, there was a big and obvious parcel leaning against his front door for the world to see as they walked past the property... I managed to manhandle it onto the back seat of my car which was still parked on the road (couldn't have taken it into mine, it was too heavy!) and he picked it up when he finally got back this evening. He is going to complain because he has a designated 'safe space' if there's no answer to the door bell but they didn't bother to put it there... I wish him luck!
Have a good evening everyoneI am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Good evening 😁
I slept quite a lot yesterday as my head was banging. Thankfully, it has stopped now since this morning 🤞 The CV tests i have expire in Feb, so not sure how effective they are. The 2nd test was also negative, but I felt rough! The cough is only an occasional tickle, not much of a cold. Unfortunately DH & DS are both complaining of headaches now. DHs will be worse than mine 🙄 DS will refuse to acknowledge there is anything wrong. They are complete opposites in this respect! I am glad I cancelled work today.
I did manage to strip the bed, wash the bedding & remake the bed. I opened the window to air the room a bit.
Another wash load done, dried & FUPA. DW emptied, pots WULTD. Downstairs toilet & sink cleaned (did upstairs yesterday), houseplants watered. I also took a bin bag with some toys in to the CS - I need to scale back the toys! Hopefully they won't be missed 😂 I managed to finish my Jigsaw yesterday as well.
asb Hugs to you. I hope you don't suffer anymore damage from tonight's storm.
Valli hugs to you too

Evening all. Hugs to anyone needing it.This morning I took some rubbish down then had my hair cut and then called at a friend's house to collect an amaryllis that we are looking after whilst she and her husband are on holiday. I stayed for 15 mins for a coffee and then went home via M&S. I had an email from the laundry company and they found my duvet cover and tablecloth (yay!) and asked when I would be in for them to deliver it. Cleaned the kitchen (bar the floor), made lunch, washed up, took in a grocery delivery and put it all away. The duvet cover and tablecloth came back (finally) but when I opened the bag there was also a piece of (someone else's) clothing in there! What is going on with this company? I sent them an email about it but they haven't responded yet. I rang the solicitor about the non-receipt of something promised last week and they said they will send today. Cleaned the kitchen floor, made tea, washed up, put a new battery in the car key fob, did eye drops, helped A with some birthday flowers that had arrived, made supper, washed up, helped A compose an email, watched a bit of tennis online, did the evening eye routine and that's it - time for bed.8

i was way too tired when I came to bed to finish reading, let alone post.
I’ve just popped a washload in as the forecast is for dry and breezy tomorrow so I plan to have full lines.
Mum has sold the car…to me! DD is deciding if she wants it. I drove it here…it was ‘interesting’ as it’s automatic and i couldn’t even get it in gear…you have to press the brake (why?) as well as the button on the gear stick. And as for the brakes…they are keen as mustard! Good job DD was behind me. Anyway I paid for it for now at the same amount the dealer was offering…he was keen to buy as it’s a 4 year old car with less than 4K on the odometer. Sis and I had agreed that that was a fair price and so here we are. If DD wants it she’ll pay me.
Job off Toots list…new doors ordered for upstairs. To be delivered and fitted Feb 12th. My bedroom door has a hole on the inside, towards the bottom, since we moved in…in 1998. These new doors are white so my window-less landing will be lighter. Hopefully this will spur me on to get the dark-varnished skirting, door frames and spindles etc painted white as per my grand plan.

Morning all. Up early for paid stuff. It's been blowing a gale for hours and still is but I feel suitably rested.
Went out for a meal last night and I've managed to lose a filling. At least I know now what my commission payment this week will be spent on. Not happy about it. We need a new blind for the kitchen, and like Round, my comfy boots are now letting in water too.
I'm not sure how much flying I can fit in today but will report back later if there's anything done.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all,
Blowing a gale here again, but I did manage some sleep. Lord only knows what damage I will encounter when it gets light! Thoroughly sick of this now. Thankfully animals are okay - very glad the pigs are now in the freezer and not living through this!
Flying wise, I will do a wash load and the basics. Lots of paid stuff to get done today which requires a lot of concentration.
Have fab days all xx7 -
Valli I have always been a named driver on DSs car insurance but since he bought an automatic last year I have refused to drive his car. He keeps saying that he will give me lessons. I have got to nearly 52 years old without driving an automatic but I should try to have a go in case a situation comes up where I have to drive it.
ASB hope you are OK there are some awful stories online about flooding and wind in your part of the world. Still windy here too.
Ranulph Fiennes is doing a talk in a couple of weeks that DS wants to go to. We both love that sort of thing. I am wrestling with the cost of £38 a ticket for DH and I when DH isn't working and we are trying to be frugal.
Other than that it's a quick gentle yoga session then off to the paid stuff. Don't feel 100% but the cold is getting better.
Have a good Wednesday all x

Morning all xx
My first day learning the new Service went well. The day flew by and I wasn't bored at all. In fact I could hear new synapses being created by the zillion 🙃
I'm up, made my bed, got dressed, taken my meds, packed my lunch, eaten breakfast and I'm supping my brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I set off. Hoping the bins are where I left them - they are quite sheltered there so 🤞. Recycling bins are safely stashed in a corner of the yard - put there after a previous storm led to hunt the can in the back garden!
I'm back on my usual job this morning, and the new one this afternoon. So much for two full days a week on each...that lasted all of....one day 🤣
DB is off the oxygen and, if his levels stayed up overnight he can come home today. Not sure that DSil has recovered from arriving home to find him laid flat out, face down on the LR floor, though!
Right. Hold onto your hats. Take care.
