Work trousers hem has been sewn up.
DSil texted me to let me know that DB is in hospital. Then called round to explain what had happened and how he is. Flu and chest infection. On the mend hopefully. Would I let Pops know? Text duly sent to Babs asking her to tell Pops.
I've had a shower, washed my hair, and put my nightie on.
Love and healing vibes going out to all flyladies and their loved ones ❤

@roundtuit wishing DB a speedy recovery...
We escaped the worst of yesterday's storm, but my thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been affected...
Had a slow day today because I didn't sleep well last night thanks to the storm. I have, however, gathered all the recycling and food caddy stuff and put it outside in the appropriate bins ready for collection tomorrow morning (they always come v. early!). Also did a bit of general swipe and wipe stuff here and there. Also made a loaf of bread and cooked lunch and dinner.
Hoping for a more productive day tomoz and that you are all well xxx

A quick one from me before I fall into bed - the internet's been off all evening until just now!
CCL2 your post made me laugh
GWS vibes to all poorlies, especially Natty, GI, YL and pigpen's friend xxxx
Sorry to hear about the storm damage, ASB. The bridge ticket is a big Ouch! Please take care of yourself and don't overdo things x
CoG, I haven't yet come across any bulbs that won't grow indoors, but a few species (amaryllis and Paperwhites spring to mind) fail outdoors.
I was up and out early this morning to get to goddaughter M's achievements assembly - she got a certificate for good work in all subjectsThen I went back to their house and helped K with some flying, including screwing a drawer handle back on, which had somehow got too big a hole for the screw (or it might have been too small a screw for the hole). All I did was to break off a piece of the stem of a cotton bud and use it to reduce the diameter of the hole, and because the stem was made of paper it acted just like a rawlplug. K was suitably impressed
I drove to the horse piddle and ate a packed lunch in the car before going to Action Heart, where I pushed myself hard for about 1.5 hours . Rosie had already been out with the dog walker by the time I got home. I spent the rest of the afternoon doing some admin stuff for K, then "cooked" (ie microwaved) our main meal of sausage casserole with some extra veg, tidied round everywhere, and finished the day with all the TV quiz programmes and the first of the new DNA series.
Tomorrow I must break out the thingy-onna-stick and the hoover, as another friend is coming here for coffee - and I also want to make some scones
Sleep well, and I hope tomorrow will be a better day weatherwise xxx8 -
Morning all,
Quick one from me as a very busy day ahead (what's new?!)
CoG I am sorry they have lost your lovely tablecloth how annoying. Alas the penalty charge is absolutely due and payable, simply because I forgot to log in and pay the toll. A lesson learnt.
Hugs to your DB, Round xx
Valli I am so sorry I missed your upsetting news about your mum the other day, so hard I remember when my grandad was going through it all, cruellest thing, big love to you xxx
Piggers PM sent xx
Today involves: tip run, gather another tip run load into the car, lots of paid stuff, visit a friend tonight, hoover upstairs (this is ridiculous now!!), update my diary, try and keep calm, feed animals etc etc etc.
Have fab days all xx8 -
Morning all xx
Thank you for your good wishes for DB. We know he's not well as he's not complaining about being in hospital! Hopefully he'll soon be back home.
In the meantime P's iron infusion helped raise his Hb to a level where he actually looks alive. And he goes for an angiogram on Monday. Did I tell you that we went full circle and now they're saying it is his heart? I can't keep up.
Meantime 89 year old Pops is sunning himself in Benidorm. And going out dancing with Babs. 😍
I'm up, made my bed, dressed, packed my lunch, eaten my breakfast and I'm supping my brew. I'll feed the birds and put out the recycling before I go to work.
I've brought down a couple of pairs of pants that need a seam stitching and will then be wearable again. Mse 😉
And I remembered to put pop socks on (knee highs I believe they now call them) so I could wear my new work shoes. Wish me luck. My boots are very down at heel and now let water in too but they're soooo comfortable.
OK. Better make a move. My first day on the new (to me) Service: Bladder & Bowel (previously known as Continence.) And breathe....
Love to all. Get well soon to all the poorlies. One day at a time.

Morning all.
I have only just got up so I'm slurping first cuppa. Have pulled yesterday's clothes on so that I can walk Poppet shortly then come back and bath, get dressed etc. It's dry now but rain is forecast for the rest of the day.
Indoor plants have been watered with what was left in my overnight carafe.
Lots planned for later - exercise class, chiropodist, meal out - but I plan to move at a slow pace and try to enjoy every moment even when I'm flying.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all
Raining here. Paid stuff today as i skived yesterday lol…but this is one of the main reasons i left teaching…i knew the Aged Ps were going to need support and, although Monday is usually a carer day this had been changed this week as mum has a docs appointment on Wednesday, so this weeks carer days were Tuesday and Wednesday.

all 4 girls deposited at schools.. traffic is mental!! The 5 minute drive from Dot's school was esimated at 19 minutes!!! We took Squeak to school.. 18 minute drive normally.. it took 9!!! A very small road is closed for 4 weeks for repairs so it has caused a multitude of congestion issues on every other road.. it's not fun!
My lappy fans are super loud.. I may need to defluff it's guts.
