@Goodintentions Maybe it's just this Forever Cough that's going around? My covid tests were always negative, but I've had a cough for more than a fortnight now, other family too. I think the original free tests are all expiring now, I was too frugal to but nu, mine expired on the 18th with almost no buffer fluid left
@Asparklierblonde 250 yers old! Wow. I always imagine it to be like a very traditional old cottage with a thatched roof, those half doors, an old Welsh dresser with all your plates displayed and slate flagstones on the floor
S&S x2, WMx1, TDx1, FUPA x1. Bath cleaned. Floors vac and mop throughout. WUDUPA, broken fence panel reported, general tidying, bin emptied and more zoflora on the kitchen roll in the bottom to make it smell nice. Meal plan.
To do: spin cycle WM and then TD
grocery shopping (ugh! I don't drive so its a 10 min walk each way and I need to do it with my collapsible trolley as we need lots. It's still very breezy and intermittently raining heavily).
Bodge broken fence panel
Shower
Mending gloves and leggings (leggings are on their last legs nd have to be fixed before each wear now!)
Collect new-to-me handbag and put n unloved one in charity bag
Possibly do: declutter my shoe cupboard, email mattress company about protector that melted in the dryer despite following instructions! Replace wax in wax melterMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

drama here with the aged ps...anyway massive +ve progress made; Mums car has has a SORN declaration made...and I've rung the car dealership for a valuation with a view to selling - as my sister pointed out to stepdad yesterday (while mum was at my house) seeing her car, which she can no longer drive, does not give her 'hope' it reminds her what she has lost and that she's no longer able to drive. Hopefully, when it's gone it will be 'out of sight out of mind'.
dad ill - took ages to persuade him to ring the GP as he doesn't want to go to hospital ... as we pointed out, although he is ill he is not so ill that he would need to be hospitalised... DD has changed their towels, which have been washed and pegged out, and mopped bathroom and toilet floors.
I was supposed to go to work...I'm not bothering now. I shall go swimming shortlyDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Round 3
Sew hem on work trousers
I meant to do it when I was on Leave but I didn't write it down and then forgot until I put the trousers on to go to work on Tuesday. I'd forgotten to do something else too - but I can't remember what it was. Seriously! I really need to start writing things down before they disappear back into the abyss of my head.
Ecrit memoire is that a thing? That housekeepers had attached to their bunch of keys. With a pencil. In the olden days. Or have I just made that up? I need to Google.

Sounds like a positive with the car Valli, hope your Dad is OK. And ASB that is tough, I had to do a second job for a while and it's not easy but needs must I suppose. We need to have some work done on our house too and I am not entirely sure where the money is coming from.
I feel dreadful with this cold. I have done 5.5 hours paid stuff and I am marking the rest of the day down as sick leave. DH has been advised to walk at least a mile every day no matter how ill he feels so I went with him and it was awful. Cold, windy and hard to get motivated but we did a grand total of 1.5 miles.
I am under the heated blanket with some camomile tea and my library book now. That will do for today.

Thanks for the love guys. Sorry for not getting on earlier, we have extensive storm damage to the hen sheds. Also my cushion box that has my lovely outdoor cushions in is destroyed, and the cushions are draped round the house drying out. To top it off, I forgot to log on and pay the toll fee for the Tyne Tunnel on my way back from Whitley Bay the other week, so £60 to pay rather than £4.50. Yes, I have cried today.
Thankfully it looks like the tip is open tomorrow so I am going to head out now and load some stuff into the car to take. I really haven't done enough paid stuff today so will work late tonight.
I am sorry nothing has stuck. Other than - no to thatch roof, yes to stone floors and stable doors! Take care all x8 -
That's a pain ASB
Did groceries, got rid of lightbulb and old batteries whilst there, wiped out and purged fridge, changed wax melt, screwed the fence panel together and put stuff in the way of it to stop nosey dog, ran spin cycle.
Still to do: Dry clothes, sort out dinner and lunchbags, pack away shopping trolley when it finally driesMarried 40y.o. mum of an autistic 11y.o. Carer/SAHM.

@Goodintentions were your travelcards in London? You can just use a debit card to touch in and out and you would just pay a single fare each way and it's capped at a maximum daily rate (£14.90 even if you are travelling peak between zones 6 and 1).@roundtuit I know what you mean, I'm always impatient when trying to lose weight but half a pound off is better than half a pound on! If you did that consistently, after a year you would have lost 2 stones.@Valli I love tiramisu - please send some. Sorry to hear about your pa - hope he's better soon and good idea about the car.@Asparklierblonde I really feel for you with that penalty charge. Have you tried asking on Pepipoo if there is anything you can do to avoid paying it? If you don't know it, it's similar to the forum on here that helps with private company motoring and parking penalty charges. It's really good and the people are very knowledgeable and helpful. http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php? Sorry you're having to take on another job. I had multiple jobs for a number of years when I was younger and it's hard going sometimes I know - and I didn't have children to care for too. This morning I went to the garden centre. I didn't have the time to walk the whole way there and back so drove half way and then walked. I bought two small pots of spring bulbs but when I got back I discovered that one of them should be planted in the garden or a large pot, neither of which I have.
They will just have to take their chance. On the way back to the car I popped into the supermarket for a few bits and then came home and made lunch and washed up. I then vacc'd around and cleaned the bathroom basin and mirror, and then made tea. I was going to clean the kitchen floor but by this time it was nearly dark so decided I would leave it until tomorrow.
The laundry company have lost the duvet cover and table cloth, which is annoying. The duvet cover is easily replaceable but the table cloth I bought on Ebay and is from the 1950s/60s and had never been used (it still had the price of 21 shillings and sixpence attached lol). It was in perfect condition and pretty much an ideal size so I'm not sure how easy it will be to find something similar. I don't want to buy a new one as I can't get the right size and the quality isn't as good, unless perhaps you spend a huge sum, which I'm sure they won't refund. The battery on the car fob has gone and so I can't lock the car with my key. I'm sure you can lock and unlock it manually but I couldn't see how. Fortunately I was able to lock it with A's fob by pointing it through the window. It worked even though the car was down below in the street and about 50 yards away. I think I have some spare batteries so will have a look. It's been pretty windy here but nowhere near as bad as in many places. I hope everyone's ok.

Sorry CoG - it's all gone. I buy the XXL sponge fingers from Lidl when they have them in - savoiardie (I think) and their mascarpone is not too expensive too so it's a fairly frequent dessert served in Villa Valli
Have googled car insurance costs for potential new car...:eek:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
