Will doing 5 x £1 amazon gift card purchases suffice? I assume Amazon won't bundle that up to a single transaction against the card if done on the same day?
They'll be fine, however you will need to have rung Coop prior to that to set up the pass number/key for online purchases, otherwise the sales won't complete.
It worked fine without doing the visa key thing
    Wouldn't do ours at all...
  • Do you get a 'switch complete' text or e-mail at all?

Everything seems set for me now but want to be sure before I start using the debit card etc etc.

Not for me but the Chase donor sent a text. In fact they were the best of the two for keeping me up to date.

    Cheers
  • Just some advice if anyone is switching from Chase. i received an email from Chase today advising that my switch to the Co-op could not be completed due to me having a savings account open with Chase. They advised me to close the savings account and then resubmit the switch, which I have now done.

This is exactly what happened to me. I had emptied my savings account with chase but did not close it down, meantime 20p interest appeared in the account.

I rang Chase and complained as I felt it would have been just as easy for them to contact me to say I needed to close the saver account first as it was for them to just refuse my switch. I’m waiting for a response from Chase about this.

My fear was if I had to start the process again, I would lose my switch bonus.

Anyway, meantime I contacted Co-op bank and they said they would restart the switch and I would still get my bonus, so let’s wait and see.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
  • My switch completed yesterday, dropped £1k in a few times in the last few days back and forth.

My PIN never arrived, but I managed to add the debit card to Apple pay and have so far made 6 transactions using Apple Pay in the high street since switch completed... none of these are appearing on the app... the balance changes between 'available' balance and actual balance. Will the card transactions eventually show up? Apple Pay has stored them on my phone, just wondering if this is normal.
  • brainiack yes they clear usually a day later or two. They don’t show as pending on the app / online. We’re only in 2024! My five Apple Pay payments worked and I received the £100 two days after.

Did 5 x debit card payments to NS&I, the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th payments needed the Visa Secure password, but the 2nd didn't. I can see a £5 debit as pending, but unlike other banks, no transaction narrative/expandable list. Assume when it is settled that will be added and I should then get the £100. Online Saver opened via App (well browser embedded within their app) and will wait on that to show now.

Have a look at the qualifying accounts just over half way down this page. Then select which interest you and hit the green APPLY button*, again just over half way down the page:

    https://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/products/bank-accounts/switch-and-save/

*EDIT - just noticed that the green button doesn't appear for some reason for the Online Saver, but does for the Base Rate Tracker.**
** 2nd Edit - looks like the Online Saver now has to opened in the App, in a branch or on the phone, and there's no longer an option to do it on the website.
