    Has anybody noticed that in the latest email comms received from TSB regarding the Switch offer, in relation to the 2 DDs that were necesary, it now states;

    "Log in to your mobile banking and check that you have two active Direct Debits. (These should have transferred from your previous account.)"

    Is that new addition? I don't remember having seen that little note between the () before. Wouldn't have bothered applying/orchestrating a switch, in the first place if I'd known/seen that bit. Unless, they're just adding a little note to let you know check if you were transferring DDs and to keep a look out...
    Mmmmm, it makes me ponder all the same.

    Hi @ukd@ukdutypaid
    i just received this email also, and the note in the brackets were not on any of the correspondence or their website. I meticulously checked the details before switching. I did set up 2 DD’s prior to switching and they have debited from the TSB a/c, but this stipulation definitely wasn’t there before. There’s even been quite a bit of debate on this thread whether they needed to be.
  • I haven't received this email from them.

    I just had a look at the T&Cs. You just need to have the 2 direct debits set up on the new account and they need to be active by 15th March.

    ...and I think to myself;
    "Is there an 11th hour attempted wriggle here by TSB?"
    I applied, switched, set a date in advance and changed/redirected two DDs from the none switching account. Swith account has completed, I now just wait for the DDs to go, which they're both due to, well before the 15th (one shows within TSB, the other doesn't but is set for the account). We wait and see, don't we....

    If they do try to wriggle out  the Ombudsman will make them cough up.

    Going to do the 20*£1 at Amazon again, wondering what would be the earliest you would do it to come out 1st Mar or later? as I want something from Amazon
    I personally wouldn't do any earlier than the 27th (2 working days). But if you're buying something regardless, it's not like you'd be losing much if you 'missed' and had to redo in March is it?
    Doing 20*£1 is a bit of a pain but worth it, but want to avoid 40*£1  so decided on the 27th  or 28th. So decided to check if the transaction can turnaround in two days, If that was the case I'd wait till the 28th

    2 working days is the shortest turnaround I've seen for an Amazon txn on TSB. Other txns do settle quicker though so no guarantees - I think the way Amazon do an authorise and capture separately means they take longer to fully settle than other merchants who do the two as one at the time of transaction.
    Did 20 £1 on Amazon yesterday (28th)  3 have cleared today (29th)  the other 17 are still pending.

    Mrs overspender22 needs to contact them on chat. They'll check her account (e.g. that she's done the 20 transactions etc.) and if eligible they can credit the £5 over the next few days.

    Have done the Plum and Moneybox DDs. Plum's first payment has been taken today and Moneybox will follow in a day or two.

    Did 20 debit card transactions on Amazon on Feb 28th and 29th and both were pending until 1st March, so not 2x £5 for me  :(

    Not sure I need another set of 20 debit card of transactions this month  :/

    Hopefully the switch bonus arrives on time
