Hi
I haven't posted on here for a while (new baby = no time !!) but one of my resolutions for 2008 is to get back to OS living !!
And it was off to a great start with a BM - never had one before and I am so excited !!! DH's Nana gave me a book called 100 BM recipies and my mum gotthe kids a cookery book which I have pinched as there are some excellent recipies in there !!!
Also money saving for me was a Sudoku Machine from my mum. Has over a million random games on it so I don't have to buy any Sudoku Puzzle Books for a while !!! lol
Hope everyone else got what the wanted !!

Hi
I don't usually tell the family what to buy me but this year I asked, and received, for things I really needed.
I got a purse from 2nd dd. I had my handbag stolen a few months ago which was never recovered and, of course, my purse was in it. I've been managing without a purse since then but dd has just bought me such a beautiful and practical one. DS is buying me Tricia Penrose fitness dvd - poor love went to every single shop in town before Xmas to get it before I realised that the release date was 26 December.
1st dd has bought me a new terramundi pot and dh bought me desperately needed underwear.
Well back to the lakeland sale which is taking an absolute age to load.

Hi elona
Have started a thread on OS about what to put in a survival box - it's just been so cold up here, it would be drastic without the heating!!If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Hubby bought me 'make do and mend' and 'eating for victory' books.
War time leaflets in book form. They are both really interesting.
I was given the 'Make do and mend' book too! Not sure if DD will let me make her knickers out of my old clothes though!
A good friend gave me a hot water bottle, which was much appreciated as the old one has perished and is only fit to turn into a garden kneeler.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
a solar powered indoor lamp, its sitts on the window sill and then lights up, but the only thing is I tried to charge it yesterday and there was no light of it last night?? I have left it on the window sill again, but it has not been that sunny yet so I am sure if it will work or not??'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'

A silicon muffin tray - o/s in that I might actually have a go at baking muffins now. It was probably the present that created most interest yesterday, and MIL who gave me it said she also had a long chat with the shop assistant when she was buying it.
DH got a wind up torch, which he is fascinated by.
I was also impressed to see that my spendthift cousin had bought a number of second hand books as presents, and had clearly spent time matching subject matter to recipient :T0 -
DS's and OH bought me a wind up lantern which is also a radio, phone charger, compass, siren  ,nightlight, mosquito repellant I love it!!
