Very brave decision making redo. High five for that.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Echoing what everyone else is saying, lovely to meet up with old friends, and glad you are feeling more positive."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and encouragement.
Quotes are in and I will probably give them the go ahead on Monday, about four weeks of work again so major upheaval.
I spent this morning cleaning the summerhouse, and making it nice again so that I have somewhere completely clear of stuff. I can take my coffee and my music up there even if it is raining. I can't think why I didn't do this before actually. Went out for a bit this afternoon and did some clothes shopping as I have very little left that fits. It is a nice problem to have. I made myself try things on, and bought the right colours and shapes so I am happy with that spend. This evening I have been working on the dining room which had quietly slipped back into 'of doom' status. Back to asking myself if I would bother to pack it, pay someone to move it, and find it a home at the other end which does make the decision making process easier. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

That sounds like a very productive day. You will be able to enjoy the summer house while the work is going on elsewhere, so get it well stocked with everything from snacks to a woolly jumper and slippers!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Not sure if you bought the bras yet but I have a local lady here (cos I'm an awkward size and m&s and suchlike don't make my size) and she swore by elomi for larger busts and I've got four now that I swap between and they do fit well. I wish they kinda pushed everything forward though rather than rounding them off under arms and elsewhere 🤣. I tried to order a swimsuit from bravissimo and saw the fire had happened ☹️ bit sad by that as that's my second go to place.
Clothes shopping sounded a good success.
And I love the sound of your summer house. Sounds like a haven for you.
When decluttering for moving I went through a similar process of, do I really want to pay extra for more van storage to move it for me to the new house...and if I didn't love it it got sold or donated or chucked. I am a huge Wonderbra fan - they used to sell them in braviss*** they last forever and look greatIt’s good you are clear on your next move - the summer house sounds lovely ! I will be borrowing the ‘do I want to pay someone to move this ‘ declutter questionDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I’m totally in agreement with the others on how you’re more positive. I’m so glad you’re feeling a little of warmth from the light at the end of the tunnel although it must still feel a way away at times. The clothes shopping sounds like it gave you an uplift too and your summer house will prove a haven xxx❤️Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
