  • Thanks for the suggestion @teapot2 but we don't want to use second hand car seats, there's no guarantees about them not having been damaged. I know the chances are slim but we dont want to take chances.

    I'll look out for deals!

I can understand you not wanting to buy 2nd hand a seat you don't know the history of.

How long do you think you've got till you need to upgrade? You're probably going to have to juggle the budget around

I say we've probably got 2 months given his current weight. So we've got time, he doesnt need it tomorrow. Might be a case of both OH and I paying just minimums on the cards and reducing our grocery budget a little.

Meal planning might be a shout, we did do that for a time while I was on maternity leave. Might reignite the telegram group chat on that one!!

Inner voice: "do a budget update, you've been buying stuff"
    Me: "you snitch"

    Funds remaining: £354.37
    Expected costs remaining:
    transport: £40
    clubs: £80
    Phone: £34.78
    MBNA: £130
This will leave me with £69.59 at the end of the month.
Unbudgeted spends: Toiletries for the kids and DH, lunch yesterday 😳 and bought snacks when I did the school run (lesson learned there, do not take the kids to the coop after school!)
Also popped a random fiver on the Barclaycard just so I felt I was doing something.
  • People are being made redundant at my work 😔
  • Got a letter today saying I was safe from redundancy, provisionally, as the redundancy process has to conclude for those selected before it's confirmed.

A mix of emotions right now.
  • Survivors guilt? Always painful.

Gosh, definitely, especially when I've only been there 4 months.
  • I know, but remember it is a role that is redundant not a person, and that last in, first out is now considered to be discriminatory.

I spent my last few weeks at work explaining to people that it was my choice to go, and it remains a decision I am happy about.

Thankyou @redofromstart . I take it you took voluntary redundancy? I don't think that's the case in my workplace right now.
