Nice to hear from you again
Hope you are starting to feel better x

Just delurking to mention - some rescue centres will re home indoor-only cats, for example if they have FIV they can live a long and happy life, but must not have contact with other cats in case they pass it on. If your DD would like to own a cat, she might do better looking elsewhere. While my cats have always had garden access, they can live perfectly happily in an indoor space and indeed for some it’s safer.

Good to hear from you. I've been thinking about you and wondering how you're doing.
It's daft that DD can't rescue a cat just because she lives in a flat. As Polly says above, there must be some indoor only cats looking for a home. I know rescues want to ensure the animals go to a good home but sometimes I think they're too picky.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3 -
Cherryfudge said:It's good to hear from you OBL. What a shame for your daughter, I would find it hard to have an animal for months then have to let it go, too. I expect the cat will soon train his new lady to leave the door open so he can get on the bed, though.
I love that you bought a squirrel feeder - what was that about animals training us?We rarely get squirrels so the birds here only compete with each other.
And thanks for the mention of the hanging basket. I haven't done mine yet and I really need to make a start. The begonia tubers were accidentally left out while we were away and are now under water, so I need to check those first, then decide on what else to add.
Enjoy watching the squirrels!I’ve got squirrels all over the place here,I love watching them though 🙂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -

Just catching up with diaries. I am so sorry to read about B. I lost my lurcher last year… they are a part of our families. Our lurcher is buried under the hazel trees at the allotment where he loved to race up and down. On many an occasion DS3 will ask to stop there on the way home from school so that he can chat to him. If I was in a position where I had no garden, @OBL, I'd defo ask our local rescue about adopting an FIV cat. They can live pretty normal lives as far as I understand but just mustn't go outside where there would be a risk of them passing it on through cat bite injuries. Our local rescue flags up when they have a cat needing an indoor home & I think it's lovely when they get chosen. Your daughter is used to having pets as well, so I'm sure they would jump at her as a responsible adopter for an indoor-only cat.

Hi everyone hope you are all ok.
I went to Mum and Dads today and they were both ok. Dad seems quite stable emotion at the moment which is good. His memory is getting a lot worse, he can’t remember my daughters at all now which is sad but to be expected because he doesn’t see them regularly enough to remember them. After I left there I went shopping and was supposed to buy a yard brush but I got too much shopping so couldn’t carry it. It’s been raining on and off all day so I don’t need it yet anyway.I’m currently carrying out an experiment in my back garden where the lawn used to be. I cleans the chicken run out a few weeks ago now and I decided to spread the old stuff from the run over where the lawn used to be, however I forgot that there was loads of mixed corn included in this and it’s now sprouting like crazy. I’m going to leave it and see if it fills up the whole area because it looks like grass so I might have a lawn in the next few weeks, if not it will be a corn field 😀.
Mum gave me a nice woven hanging basket today so I’m going to replant the one i did yesterday into the new basket in a bit. It will be a lot more secure then.I’m not sure if I posted about this in my last post but I bought a hanging bird table the other day and I’ve hung it on a bracket near the back door thinking that it probably wouldn’t get used because it’s too close to the house but the birds love it. I can now sit on my settee and watch the birds landing on the bird table. It too unsteady for the wood pigeons so they have to use the other feeder further up. I have had a couple of magpies trying to land on it but it swings about too much for them so they go in the chicken run and help themselves to the chicken food 😀😳Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203 -
What you posted yesterday about not posting lately, sounds just like me. I have been AWOL from my diary for about 2 weeks due to mental and physical reasons. Not sure if its old age or the weather...lol. Glad to see you are feeling a bit better now though.Making the debt go down and savings go up
