So I can’t remember what happened to the rest of Thursday but I did finish the book and I’m now reading The List Of Suspicious Things which I’m really enjoying.I worked on Friday and it was quite a nice day. I was gutted that it was so sunny though but I did get out in the sun because I walked into town when I left work. I picked up some food shopping so I wouldn’t have to go shopping over the weekend.
Yesterday was gorgeous here so I went out for a walk with DD2. We went to the quay and had lunch at a vege cafe. I had sour dough toast with roasted red pepper and garlic hummus topped with tomato’s and balsamic dressing with pine nuts and sesame seeds and it was gorgeous. I’m going to try and recreate it at home because it’s a nice lunch instead of a boring sandwich. In the evening I went up and weeded the top of the garden where my washing line is, it had got quite bad over the winter but it’s all clear now so I can hang my washing out without it getting caught on anything
Today I have been decorating, decluttering and organising . My bedroom is coming along nicely. I have one wall left to paint and various bits of woodwork. The skirting behind my bed is sanded so I can paint that tomorrow along with the coving on that wall then it’s just two doors to paint and the decorating is done. I cleared out a load of things I no longer want so now have 6 bags to go to the charity shop. I had a wicker trunk type box in my room which was falling apart so I sorted and emptied that so I could break it down and get rid so that’s gone. I’ve just got my bed, beside tables and a chest of drawers in there now and the rest is empty which looks great. I have the men coming to do the radiators on Tuesday and Wednesday then I can look at getting the carpet changed. There is also nothing under my bed I cleared this out ages ago but a few bits had crept back but they have gone now so it’s nice and clear again.
I really wanted to cut the grass rather than do my room but it was starting to get me down and I need somewhere relaxing to sleep which it definitely wasn’t . The garden will be fine so long as I don’t look out the window 😀
I also had to hoover the house because it had got messy while I was sorting stuff so everywhere is now tidy and clean again and I feel more organised. Once the bags have gone to the charity shop the landing will be clear.
Tomorrow I am taking the stuff to the charity shop then when I get home I am painting the last wall I’m hoping to get two coats on it tomorrow so it’s finished for Tuesday. I managed to get two coats on the wall I did today because it was drying really quickly.
If the weather plays ball 😂😂😂I will do some jobs outside on Tuesday while the heating men are here. If not I can carry on and paint some more of my chair, it’s looking really good and I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out. Once I’ve finished the chair I can have a go at the desk. I done two drawers so could do the other two on Tuesday if it’s it’s raining.Tuesday will also be a banking day because I get my pension so I need to check everything is on track and pay that into my savings. This is the first month of trying my payment method and so far it’s been ok. I have felt much more in control and not as stressed by drawing the money out on payday and paying it back on the 16th . I know I’ve got the right budget for the whole month and that everything has been accounted for.Forgot to say I also got some washing done and dried outside and I’ve ironed it and put it away. I also changed my bed 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -
Crumbs - what a lot you've got done! Love the comment about the lawn: I had a real battle getting the mower through mine today but as you say, it can grow without supervision.
That hummus lunch sounds scrumptious. I think I might have a go at making that too!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Wow, OBL! You achieved loads there. I like an uncluttered bedroom too. It just feels more peaceful somehow. I'm also hoping for reasonable weather tomorrow for outdoor tasks. Pouring with rain here & similar showers forecast on & off all day. Let's hope our respective corners of the country have drier weather tomorrow, then we can both crack on with what we want to do.

You have been busy. I love the quay and they have some gorgeous cafes there. We often cycle along the trail there and stop at the cafe on our way back.Sadly it looks grey here so don’t think the weather is going to be great here today. It is supposed to pick up later on this week.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I remember going to the quay when my kids were young teenagers. Not been there for years - might have to rectify that en route to Cornwall next time.
You have been busy. Glad the finances feel more controllable 👍January spends - £587.581 -
