Just to mention that you don't have to take your pension when it is due, you can defer it & get 1% extra for every 9 weeks you defer.
I think OBL is already drawing her pension in order to reduce the hours she was working.
I think she has her NHS pension but not yet state pension as I think she is not yet 66. Given her health though I would imagine she would like her state pension asap particularly as money is tight and she would probably want to stop work altogether.

Yes I did mean state pension although I realise I didn't say that.  It is all a juggle though.  If finances are tight sometimes it can be worth having them tight for a little bit longer so you can have a future where they are not quite so tight.  If you know your options you can make your choices.  The first thing here though is to make sure OBL has the full entitlement & if not why not & can it be fixed.
It said I’m entitled to the full amount 🙂

The good news is the state pension is paid every 4 weeks so you will get at least 13 lots of 800 a year not 12, plus the winter heating allowance once a year.
Oh I forgot about the heating allowance, mind you they will probably get rid of that by the time I retire 😀

You are indeed correct,I am in receipt of my NHS pension but not my state pension I’m only 60. I would love to have my state pension now but sadly I have to wait. I really can’t imagine doing my job until I’m 66. Cutting my hours to two days a week hasn’t made any difference to my health so far which is a shame. I’m kind of hoping it will improve when the better weather eventually arrives 😀

If you enjoy the Osman books I always recommend julia Chapman Date With..... series.  They can standalone but much better to read them in order as they take place almost straight after each other in the time line

Thanks I was feeling good when I got up but it’s gone downhill from there. The Richard Osman books are so good, they have everything in there that I like about a book. I think he’s very clever thinking it all up 😀

I woke up at 7.30 but was still tired because I didn’t go to sleep until gone 2am ( blame Richard Osman 😀) I started reading my book and couldn’t put it down.

I was re awoken at 10 am by the sounds of work outside my house. We have a private path leading to our houses and next to that is an area where some trees grow alongside. There were a couple of men with a digger digging up the ground just in front of the trees. They are laying new internet cables but the awkward thing is I couldn’t get out of my house because the path was blocked off and the digger was in the way 😳

I was going to the charity shop but I would have had to go round through the back garden to get out. This involves three flights of steps, a lane then through a carpark and down a very steep drive to get out onto the road. I didn’t fancy doing that with my shopping trolley and loads of bags so I’m going to go on Saturday instead.

I have done my ironing though so that’s something accomplished today. I might do a bit of my bedroom but I’m not feeling brilliant so I’m not sure if it’s a good idea seeing as I have work tomorrow

I also want to finish my book so I can give it back tomorrow. I have another book called The List Of Suspicious things that DD2 has loaned me but DD1 also wants to read it so that’s next on the list.
