That’s awful about the cats and house. Why would people want to live like that.
I’m pleased you’re looking after yourself and staying home whilst you don’t feel well. Hope you feel, enter soon.January spends - £587.582 -
I hope the cats have been taken care of now. The state of the property I can imagine , it's something I have a lot of involvement in . Have a nice rest of the week.

Today was interesting and shocking in equal measure😳 I was just getting ready to take B out and I noticed the landlord going into next door wearing a hazmat suit. When I got outside he stopped for a chat about it all. He is absolutely fuming about the mess they have left behind. I went in and had a look and it's worse than the photos. You can't get in the kitchen and the worktops are just full of empty vodka bottles so that explain a lot. They haven't been putting their rubbish out in the bin it's all in the house. No wonder there are rats everywhere and people said it was my chickens. There is animal poo all over the window ledges 🤢🤢 I disinfected my shoes when I got back from my dog walk. It took them all day just to clear the living room of rubbish so I think it's going to take a while to clear it out.
He is going to have to have it fumigated and completely redecorated. He's not sure if the kitchen will need replacing yet.
He is going to let the council rent it out for him now so hopefully a nice family will move in instead and we don't end up back where we started
The cats are an ongoing situation. The cat that spent the last two nights with me has been taken in by our local vet because they scanned him and he is registered to an address on the other side of the city. The vets wouldn't let the lady who is helping to home them take him because they said he can't be left roaming in a strange area even though she explained he had lived here for 6 years. The story had about this cat was that my neighbours took him in because a friend moved and couldn't take him with them so we're just going to leave him behind but I'm wondering now if that was true. Anyway the vets won't be able to trace his owners if they also don't live there anymore. At least hie is somewhere being looked after now though. The other one is still here and homeless but the lady helping has contacted the owner and got permission to find him a home so she is trying to find somewhere for him to go 😟
I have mainly done washing today which was pegged out and mostly dried. I also went to do a food shop to last me for a few days. I didn't want to get too much for the fridge or freezer because I want to defrost it. I should have done it yesterday but I didn't look in there early enough to do it.
Tomorrow I am going to DD1s house because she has four days off so four days to paint the kitchen and bathroom so they can move back in. The whole downstairs is being painted but it won't get done in four days.Im only supposed to be going to see the new paint colour she has picked but I expect I will help do some painting if I'm feeling up to it. I feel sorry for her because she doesn't have anyone to help. My son in law is too busy at work and his parents are useless at DIY and she can't afford to pay someone to come and do it . Ive kind of resigned myself to the fact that MY decorating isn't going to be finished any time soon because DD2 is off next week and wants to finish's painting her living room. Her place is a new build though with lovely smooth walls so it's a pleasure to paint 😂
Once they are both sorted I can concentrate on doing my jobs.
I like to look at the property websites and there's two flats for sale down the road from me. One is a basic shell with no kitchen or bathroom just internal walls and it's going to auction for £5,000 😳 I was trying to figure it if I could buy it and renovate it with what's left of my lump sum 😂😊I would have had to get it for the list price though and I expect it will go for more than that. I would then have a place that was rent free and the profit form my current house. It would be terribly risky though as the block might be horrible . They do say buy the worst house in the street though 😀. The other flat in the block is on for £48,000 but that has a ropey kitchen and and outside courtyard so it's worth more. That one would have suited me if I had had a spare £48,000 somewhere

Oops I forgot to do an update on B . She is definitely not right 😟 her back end keeps giving way and she has fallen over more today than normal. I think if she stays like this I will have to take her back I've still got to get a urine sample but that's proving difficult to say the least. She is still drinking loads and last night she was constantly up and down off the sofa. I've given her her usual dose of paracetamol today and she has slept all evening. She also keeps walking into things and she wet her bed last night 😟

That's so sad and so shocking about the house... I'm glad the cats have a plan, or at least the beginnings of plans.
Perhaps your DD would trade work with you? You help her now and she comes to help with yours later?
I would be just like you, planning what to do with a local place for sale at a price like that! Of course you could always leave a bid for it, just don't forget to factor in the auctioneer's fees.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Subscribed @Onebrokelady! Well done on the cats. What horrible ex- neighbours; I hope you get the fab ones you deserve. Happy New Year love Humdinger xx2

Sorry to hear about B. Hope she improves.
I hope you get better neighbours next time!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney1 -
Thank goodness those horrendous neighbours have gone. There is far too much dumping of cats & leaving them behind. Our local cat rescues are full of such poor abandoned animals & are so full to bursting that they have a waiting list.
Poor old B. I think she is a good age for a dog (?), but must be so sad to see her health declining.
I like Cherryfudge's idea of trading painting time with your daughter. You do a few hours of decorating to help her out & she repays the favour with putting those hours in when you are doing your own painting.
