That's great news for B, though I'm glad you were on a  bus route as it wouldn't have done you much good carrying her all the way home!

Glad you've got some options with B.  It's difficult when you are given different opinions at vets, we've had that before as well.

So pleased for you about B 😀 She’s doing incredibly well for her age bless her ❤️

My dog has to sniff and leave her scent on every inch of pavement it takes ages to get anywhere with her.
Thanks I was very relieved there’s things she can try. The vets had her age down as 15 so they had to correct that 🙄she does love a good sniff 😀

It can be quite costly too. I used to just trust the vet but when our cat had a poorly eye they did lots of invasive treament that it turned out were actually making it worse, it cost a lot of money for something that didn’t work and shouldn’t have been done . We saw an ophthalmologist in the end and she gave us the right advice and it cleared up within weeks. Poor cat nearly lost his eye 😟 I would move to a different practice but I can only walk to the other one near me and it’s not easy to do with a sick pet. My daughters vet is very good but they are in another town so I can’t get there

Could your daughter not take you to the other vet in the evening/late afternoon and SIL look after the children? I am still reading your previous diary and you do/have done so much for her….sorry if that’s out of line just a thought?

  • In terms of figuring things out with different paydays I would look at TheBudgetMom on Y0utube. She uses what she calls the 'budget by paycheck' method. I found it really helpful for managing different payday and according to my friend it's great when you are paid 4 weekly (so the payday keeps changing) but monthly bill dates stay the same. It's all paper and pen and you don't need to buy anything so if it doesn't work you don't loose anything.

Sadly she doesn’t live close enough to me to be able to do that otherwise I’m sure she would. I’ve called her in an emergency and she ferried me and B around then but it’s too far to ask her to do it on a regular basis.

After the good news about B yesterday I’m now not too sure what to think. The vet gave her the painkilling injection which is supposed to wear off after 8 hours but she is worse today than she was yesterday. She is behaving in the same way as she was when she had the Librela shot. She won’t eat and has barely drunk anything she can’t stand up at all unless she is moving, as soon as she stops her legs give way except now it’s all of her legs. She looks confused as well. I took her out this evening and she only went halfway then turned around and came back. If she doesn’t pick up by Monday I’m going to have to take her back again. I’ve given her the painkillers they gave me and she has gone to sleep now so at least she is settled.

I have also messed up my steroids which means I’ve run out 😳I have enough for tomorrow and that’s it and my surgery is closed until Monday so I don’t know what I’m going to do. I was sure I had another weeks worth but I can’t find them anywhere and I’m now wondering if I chucked them out when I last filled up the box I put them in . I had lots f empty packets from other tablets that I remember throwing in the recycling so they might have gone in there, or I didn’t have a weeks worth left and should have ordered them on Monday but forgot , either way I am stuffed now.

I went and met friends for coffee today which was lovely. I walked into town but paid for it dearly which was annoying. I then came home and cleaned the house so I don’t have to do it tomorrow as DD2 is coming to stay overnight because she wants to spend some time with B. I think we are going to treat ourselves to a takeaway and movie but I’m not sure because we do change our minds a lot 😀 we will probably just end up chatting.

I’m not very happy that the weather forecast for today was totally wrong. It’s been a lovely day and I could have pegged my washing out but they forecast rain and hail so I didn’t put the washing on early enough 😡 I’ve done it now and it’s on the airer. I also changed my bed so I have lovely clean sheets to get into later. I think I might have to start leaving my bedroom window open a bit now because I got very hot last night. I keep getting night sweats which I had really badly going through the menopause but they had stopped for a long while and now seem to have come back😟

Tomorrow I am going to the Range to see if they have a decent yard brush because I don’t have one and I’m using  my brush from indoors which is a bit too soft and I don’t want it to get muddy. I cleared the first set of steps yesterday so the patio and steps are now free of leaves. I might do some more tomorrow if the promised rain stays away or if not I might paint some of my bedroom

I know someone who ran out of meds at the weekend and they rang 111. I didn't think they would help but a GP rang back and spoke to them and sent a prescription to the local chemist. Worth a try at least?

Sorry to hear about B. Hope she improves over the weekend.
