Things often get worse in the evening, when our resistance is lower. Get yourself over to the GP and hassle them for answers: hopefully they will see this is new and detrimental to your wellbeing.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Finally checked the bank and I’m not broke so that’s a bonus 😀 I am having trouble dealing with two paydays so far apart though. My pension is paid on the 16th of the month and my wages on or around the 27th depending on whether it falls on a weekend or not. I don’t know why I can’t get my head round it but I can’t work out how to spread the costs out over the month.I did make some debt payments today but not the full amount. Each account had odd totals so I’ve paid enough to each one to round them down to whole figures which added up to £30 in total. Next month I will start paying my £50 a month
I also remembered I’m supposed to be saving for christmas/ birthdays so I’ve transferred money over into what is now called The Presents Pot. I’ve already had DD2s birthday and I’ve paid for DD1s present so I just need to get her a card. The next birthday is my son in law and I will give him money because I never know what to buy. After that it’s the DGC who both have July birthdays . There is £100 in the pot now so a good start.
I’m not feeling great today so I’m pottering around at home. I’ve cleaned the floors and tidied up so everywhere is looking presentable. I wanted to do sit some bits to my bedroom but that’s not going to happen which is frustrating. I’m off to have lunch now then I might have a nap 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -
Hi @Onebrokelady
Re the two paydays - can you "hide" the pension in a different account and then bring it in to your normal account on your other payday? That's what I used to do when DH was paid mid-month and I was paid on the last working Thursday of the month.
Just a wee thought. BiB x

I have a spreadsheet that I run for a couple of months that is like a bank statement. June is currently looking interesting as there are several minus balances. For me it is the 4 weekly state pension which needs dealing with. I can't believe how much more complicated being retired is financially than working & don't get me started on HMRC..

Naughty spending is not as exciting as it sounds 😂it’s just anything that’s not in the budget so things I don’t need but that my spendy brain tells me I deserve for any number of flimsy reasons such as Im bored, sad ,it’s Tuesday 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -

Well I had my lunch but I didn’t go for a nap because the sun came out the birds are tweeting and it’s mild so I went and did some garden clearing.
I started on the patio but then realised this was a mistake because I can’t actually get to the top of the garden where I dump all the weeds etc due to it resembling the rainforest. So I started again at the top and have roughly cleared one short path before having to stop for a medicinal Kit Kat and cup of tea.
I have never let my garden get this bad and it’s going to take a lot of work to sort it out. I’m thinking in future I need to come up with a plan to keep it under control. My back garden is 80ft long by about 18ft wide and it’s terraced. I’m thinking allocate a week to each area then tackle each one on rotation but this depends on weather and the garden falling in with my plans 😀 At the moment I just randomly attack it whenever the mood takes me or the suns out and I’m not in too much pain.
If I look at it as a whole I won’t get anything done at all. Since having the chickens I’ve concentrated on the patio and front garden because I use the patio and the neighbours can see the front garden. This leaves me with the area where the lawn used to be ( pre chickens 🐓) which also has a raised bed all down one side. Then the next level is where the washing lines is and this bit seems to grow weeds like crazy. Then the top which at the moment has a collapsed shed and piles of garden rubbish on it. I can’t see this from my house becasue it’s behind a hedge and I call it my wild life area😂it also currently full of wild garlic I’ve just discovered. Hmmmm lots to ponder
Interestingly I didn’t have any pins neeedles until I came in and sat down so there’s my cure 😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -
Your state pension can be either weekly or 4-weekly, but not monthly. Also there is currently no way of taxing it at source. So anyone on the new state pension will start getting an annual tax bill as soon as it goes up by 9%. HMRC can't cope now.2
