What a nightmare that turned into. I waited an hour for a bus home then half way home the driver said they weren’t going the whole route so I had to get off that bus and onto another all the while it’s pouring with rain. Honestly my bus service is absolutely useless and it makes doing anything really difficult. They want people to use public transport but it’s not fit for purpose

Sainsbury’s also had a problem with their tills not working so it was cash only or using your card with chip and pin which was like roulette because not all bank cards were working. Thankfully mine actually worked but the queues were half way round the shop. This poor student in front of me tried every card he had but they wouldn’t work so he had to go out to the cash machine and draw the money out.

I think it’s safe to say I will not be going anywhere else this weekend. I ordered all the pet supplies last week so they came on Wednesday so that’s the animals sorted for a couple of weeks me I’ve still got loads of washing liquid and fabric conditioner left so no heavy shopping to be done. I’ve bought the ingredients to make a cheesy vegatable pasta bake and I have ingredients for a curry so that’s 8 meals for me if don’t go out again for a few days. It’s the cat milk that I will need to top up but hopefully not until at least Wednesday

😂 just scrolled down the page and there’s a big announcement about Sainsburys not being able to deliver any orders so that’s make me feel slightly better because I was muttering to myself about how’s this wouldn’t happen if I shopped online. Thank god I don’t

Perhaps split your time off between rest and activity? After all, you could do something creative while resting, and still have something to show for it. I hope you are feeling better soon, though.
I’ve been reading but my head hurts so I can’t do much else

Enjoy your days off. I'm hoping for good weather soon as well, got loads of stuff to plant & tidy up.
Thanks, it’s horrible here today so I won’t be going out in the garden 😀

A few times I've been in shops that no longer take cash when their payment system has stopped working so they couldn't sell anything at all. The idea that we will eventually move to being a cashless society seems nuts to me. It will only work if payment systems, which are reliant on the internet among other things, never go down, which is clearly never going to be the case.

Oh what a palaver! I heard about that on the news. That’s the trouble when everything is computerised then the systems go down. Hopefully you’re sat with your feet up now.

I heard about sainscomputerbugs as we were pulling into Mr T. I’m pleased Dh needed petrol or we could have ended up in there. Bet it was a nightmare for anyone expecting shopping delivered 🙄

It all sounds thoroughly 'unsatisfactory'. I hope you're warm and dry and starting to feel better now? The Sains thing must have inconvenienced so many people, and for those who can't get out and are dependent on a delivery, it's a complete nightmare.

  • Hello OBL - I am still avidly reading your previous diary and I am at the part where you and DD2 have just got covid. I felt so bad for you I wanted to send you a hug! And B had to walk herself round the garden - I had visions of you putting her lead on her and letting her out the back to take herself for a little walk, checking in on the chickens as she went 😜
