Hello OBL - I am still avidly reading your previous diary and I am at the part where you and DD2 have just got covid. I felt so bad for you I wanted to send you a hug! And B had to walk herself round the garden - I had visions of you putting her lead on her and letting her out the back to take herself for a little walk, checking in on the chickens as she went 😜
Oh god that brings back memories 😀poor B wondered what the hell was going on 😀

What a nightmare that turned into. I waited an hour for a bus home then half way home the driver said they weren’t going the whole route so I had to get off that bus and onto another all the while it’s pouring with rain. Honestly my bus service is absolutely useless and it makes doing anything really difficult. They want people to use public transport but it’s not fit for purpose

Sainsbury’s also had a problem with their tills not working so it was cash only or using your card with chip and pin which was like roulette because not all bank cards were working. Thankfully mine actually worked but the queues were half way round the shop. This poor student in front of me tried every card he had but they wouldn’t work so he had to go out to the cash machine and draw the money out.

I think it’s safe to say I will not be going anywhere else this weekend. I ordered all the pet supplies last week so they came on Wednesday so that’s the animals sorted for a couple of weeks me I’ve still got loads of washing liquid and fabric conditioner left so no heavy shopping to be done. I’ve bought the ingredients to make a cheesy vegatable pasta bake and I have ingredients for a curry so that’s 8 meals for me if don’t go out again for a few days. It’s the cat milk that I will need to top up but hopefully not until at least Wednesday
A few times I've been in shops that no longer take cash when their payment system has stopped working so they couldn't sell anything at all. The idea that we will eventually move to being a cashless society seems nuts to me. It will only work if payment systems, which are reliant on the internet among other things, never go down, which is clearly never going to be the case.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, it’s nuts to even think about. They must have lost a fortune yesterday

Oh what a palaver! I heard about that on the news. That’s the trouble when everything is computerised then the systems go down. Hopefully you’re sat with your feet up now.
Next time I go shopping I will take cash just in case 😂

I heard about sainscomputerbugs as we were pulling into Mr T. I’m pleased Dh needed petrol or we could have ended up in there. Bet it was a nightmare for anyone expecting shopping delivered 🙄
You had a lucky escape there. I feel sorry for the people who were expecting deliveries becasue none went out apparently

It all sounds thoroughly 'unsatisfactory'. I hope you're warm and dry and starting to feel better now? The Sains thing must have inconvenienced so many people, and for those who can't get out and are dependent on a delivery, it's a complete nightmare.
It was chaos in the shop. I came home and went to bed

After yesterday’s shopping shenanigans I went to bed in the afternoon I felt awful when I got home and still don’t feel better today. This is dragging on now 😟

I’m not going anywhere today thankfully so will be relaxing at home. I do have some washing to do so will chuck that in the machine in a minute. I’m gutted because it’s a sunny day here but I’m too ill to do anything in the garden, mind you it chucked it down all night so everything is very soggy.

I also need to have a look at my bank account to make sure everything is where it should be. My pension was paid in yesterday so I like to check in at the same time.

The heating guys are supposed to be coming on Tuesday but I’m thinking of cancelling it in case I’m still ill. I don’t really want people here doing work if I’m not feeling well and I don’t want to spread it around either as I’m not sure what it is. Covid tests are negative but I’ve been in contact with all sorts at work.

Putting off the heating guys might be a good move: even if you're feeling better by Tuesday, you don't want it hanging over you in the meantime. I don't know quite what's going round but DH had Covid followed by a cough/cold that he's having difficulty shaking, and I've seen mention of it around the forum (and now I've got the cough, which seems odd as I associate coughs with the aftermath of infection, not the start). You are wise to reduce activities but it must be very frustrating when it's sunny outside and you want to be doing the garden. What are your garden plans this year?

I’m still not 100% so have rearranged the heating guys to come back another time. This has been a head cold with a horrendous headache and painful throat that seems to come and go. I did have a cough for about a day then it disappeared. I’ve also felt shivery at times and like I’ve got a temperature but haven’t had one when I’ve checked. I’ve also been very achey but that’s normal for me.

My garden plans are just to get it looking more liked garden and less like a farm yard 😂

Yesterday was another day spent not doing a lot. I went to sleep in the afternoon and woke up at 17.30 😳 I pulled the footstool over and made my settee into a chaise then snuggled under a blanket. I woke up under a pile of cats 😀  I like to think they were giving me a cuddle due to being ill but realistically know they were using me as a hot water bottle 😀.

Today has been another quiet day becasue I still didn’t feel 100% this morning. I started to feel slightly better at tea time but went slightly downhill after I ate my tea. I keep feeling a bit sick when I eat so not wanting to eat anything apart from rich tea biscuits. I do feel better than I did at the weekend so I’m hoping  tomorrow will be a better day.

I don’t know if I posted about this but I have had pins and needles in my left shoulder, arm and hand for days now so I think I’m going to have to get a gp appointment. They won’t do anything but I will give it a go. I’ve also got them in left foot and bizarrely on the back of my head 😳 I had two episode this weeks of not being able to grip properly with my left hand. My arm was really heavy like I’d fallen asleep on it.

I postponed the heating guys in case I was still ill on Tuesday and they are now coming in April which will be better for me. I’m hoping the weather will be nice when they are here so I can get out of the way in the garden. I went up to the washing line today and I can’t wait to get out and tidy up the garden. It looks like Steptoes yard out there at the moment. The weather has been so bad andI’ve not been feeling great so it’s a mess. I just hope acquire some energy from some where soon. I think once I get going I will be ok, I just need to get going.

I have also phoned the vet about B today because she isn’t doing too well. Her back legs keep collapsing so she can’t hold herself up, she is fine if she is walking but not good if standing still. Today she has groaned a few times when getting up from sitting so I think she is in pain. I’ve given her her usual dose of  paracetamol but I’m not sure it’s lasting long enough. I’m not sure there will be anything they can do at this point. I could t get her in to my local vets until Thursday so booked it for then but I’m going to phone in the morning to see if they have any cancellations. They had appointments at the other surgery but it’s two buses away and I can’t guarantee I will get there if the bus doesn’t turn up

Sorry to hear you are such a house of sickness. :( Apart from the cats, that is. They seem to have you where they want you! Really hoping both you and B are feeling better tomorrow, such a worry when age starts to tell on a loved creature.

I hope you can get a GP appointment too, whatever you have seem to have quite a hold.
