Don’t walk out…..get a sick note from your GP.  Are you in a union…..I’d been in one for years and never contacted them but did when I was going for the early retirement…..more for back up than anything else.
I’m currently not in a union because payroll stopped paying my membership fee when I retired and returned. The union contacted me and asked me if I still wanted to be a member so I told them yes and they were goi g to sort it out but its still not been sorted

That's so ridiculous, I wouldn't blame you at all for just walking away.  Not allowing you to go to an occupational health appointment must be a breach of their duty of care to employees.
That’s what the lady at occy health said when I phoned up to ask her to if they could move the appointment, she was really annoyed as she said it was my manager who referred me and then said I couldn’t go .

Another day wasted spent in bed. I was supposed to take the cat to the vet to be reviewed today but I woke up this morning feeling awful so I cancelled it and moved the appointment to Monday at 2.30. I don’t know why I make morning appointments because I know it takes me a couple of hours to get going. Today I didn’t get going at all and slept all day as I was totally exhausted. I was supposed to meet my friend for coffee but I was just too tired.

I did some washing when I got up then discovered the cat had peed in his bed so that all had to be washed. I was thinking he was getting better but he is clearly still weeing when and where he shouldn’t so I’m going to talk to DD2 about the decision we need to make about him. I don’t want to end up in an emergency situation where I’ve got to rush him to the vet on a day when I have to go to work. The tumour in his bladder will block it eventually and I’m not going  to know when that’s happened until he gets ill, the vet said to me he is quite poorly and they are also very good at covering up how bad they feel so I’m worried he is in pain and I won’t know. I don’t want to lose him but I need to think of what’s best for him. He has also lost weight and I can feel his bones so I think it’s time to plan for the end.

MY boss phoned me while I was asleep so I had to phone her back, she said I can go to my appointment on Wednesday now because I am in the DCU and the girl working in the surgical team only has three patients so she can cover me while I’m gone,  she could have given me the day off in that case but had chosen not to. My appointment is at the other hospital in the city which is about a twenty minute walk away so I’ll walk there and back, it will mean no coffee break but I could always grab a take away  while I’m over there in the cafe and walk back with it.

Tomorrow I am in clinics with the person who should have been working Wednesday and I swear if she isn’t there when I get there I am turning round and going back out the door. Fridays are busy and stressful as it is so I don’t need any extra stress. One thing I forgot to say was that when they deleted me from the IT system they also completely deleted my email account including every single email that was in there and it can’t be retrieved, I felt so FREE 😀😀 now I don’t need to trawl through hundreds of emails that accumulated while I was off. I can’t access my new email account though because of a system error so I need to sort that out tomorrow 🙄

I then have four days off from work so will be making the most of them. I really need to get back to finishing my bedroom so that’s next on the hit list. I cleaned out a couple of kitchen cupboard the other day so they are sparkling and decluttered. I had my flour in plastic tubs but I keep it in the freezer now so those tubs are going to the charity shop and I’ve streamlined the things I  have in that cupboard so it’s almost empty. I literally want them as empty as possible  so that if I do move I haven’t got to move too much stuff. This year is the year of clearing out the last things I don’t need, I’ve got rid of loads of stuff over the last couple of years so there’s no visual clutter at all but  some of my cupboards house things I don’t use so they need to go.

What a dire situation with work 😞 Sorry to hear about the added upset with the cat. I really hope things improve for you very soon, you need a break from all this stress, it can’t be helping your health both physically and mentally.

It might be an idea to email them (so you have a record) and remind them they were going to sort out your membership. I'm now on a minimum cost membership as my pay is low, but it helped to have membership when I needed it and the amount paid makes no difference to my rights. I know my union won't take on problems that pre-exist the membership which is why I'd encourage you to remind them you hadn't made a decision to leave and had asked for it to be reinstated.

I'm sorry the poor cat is struggling. I know you'll make the best decision when the time comes, but it must be very hard knowing when that point is.

I hope tomorrow isn't so stressful.

I was previously civil service and the union there will help non union members if they have issues without insisting on them joining.  In your case it shouldn't be a problem as you were previously a member and trying to join again?  At most you would be looked on as a suspended member?   Since it wasn't you that cancelled your membership.  Anyhow I'm sure you'll get that aspect sorted but I can well understand you wanting to go off sick again- they always say people don't leave jobs, they leave managers!

Sorry to read about puss, gentle hugs from me

Sorry about the cat and the difficulties you are having.

Glad you can at least have your appointment although not sure why it had to be checked.

Back in December I told DD2 that I was really looking forward to 2025 as I had a feeling it was going to be a really good year 😂😂😂😂

I’ve contacted them several times to try and sort it out. I think I’m going to have to sort it out my end with payroll

That what I thought, I’ve told them I intended to stay as a member and they said leave it with us and we’ll sort it out. I might contact payroll now to see if they can reinstate it for me instead. I’m not worried about not currently being in the union, I’ve got enough fight left in me to do without if I have to 😀
