What an absolute shambles, I'm not surprised you feel like just walking away.  Have you spoken to the rheumatologist.  I can't believe you are working in a medical environment & are not allowed to attend a medical appointment.

Work should be supporting you on your return to work, not running you down so you need to go back off on sick leave again.  I don't think anyone reading this would think of you any less if you were to walk out and leave them to it.  I hope you get to your appointments and are supported by Occ Health

What a complete nightmare. It sounds as though you were the only one who knew what they were doing. Tomorrow has to be a better day.

Don’t walk out…..get a sick note from your GP.  Are you in a union…..I’d been in one for years and never contacted them but did when I was going for the early retirement…..more for back up than anything else.

That's so ridiculous, I wouldn't blame you at all for just walking away.  Not allowing you to go to an occupational health appointment must be a breach of their duty of care to employees.

It wouldn’t be so bad if that wasn’t a very regular occurrence. I spoke to the clerk that books the Rheumy appointments and she was lovely, she cancelled Fridays appointment and is going to speak to the consultant to see if he can phone me on a different day then she’s going to message me on my care

That was one sh*t-show of a day, @Onebrokelady. Sounds like lots of examples of poor (or no) communications all coming together resulting in stress & chaos. You did well to get through it. It was very professional of you not to have a melt-down. I hope cover can be found & that your appointment can go ahead as arranged.

The communication in my dept is non existent. I have now been given permission to leave work during my shift on Wednesday to go to the appointment but that will mean no break and walking there and back
