It's sad that you've had to choose not to go to the scattering of the ashes. Perhaps plan something else as a way of remembering him if that works for you?
I hope you have sunshine today and can get some outside jobs done. It's so nice to have a brighter day here.
Absolutely right about not going back to your usual hours - you'd only be off again in no time. Ease yourself back in as much as possible. Can Occ Health support you over this? Meanwhile it seems your rheumatologist is helpful and addressing your situation constructively, which is a massive step in the right direction.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. It's unbelievable that a "health professional" i.e. that Matron, has no understanding of occupational health... If that Matron doesn't follow best practice just keep referring her to Occ Health (or HR guidelines, whichever is appropriate). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3

Its interesting that you go back and they immediately expect you to come back full time. Obviously that won't happen.
Hopefully the medication will be sorted out soon.
My work are notoriously unorganised so will not have thought about me doing a phased return, I am sure it will come as a complete shock to them that I actually need to do that but I will find out on Monday hopefully. If they don’t sort it out I will get another sick cert when my annual leave runs out until after Christmas because frankly it’s not up to me to sort this out
I should get=a prescription on the day of the appointment on the 19th ,there is a chemist next door so I can pick it up from there, it will be a months supply so I can sort the rest out after the new year.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203 -

We have had a lovely sunny day here today but I didn’t get any jobs done 😂
Occy health were meant to phone me to check up on how I was doing a month after I went sick, I still haven’t heard from them 🤷♀️Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -

Todays update is another that didn’t go to plan and I’m beginning to think I will give up making plans in the first place😂
So I woke up at 10am after not getting to sleep until 2.30am. I messaged DD2 to see if she still wanted to meet in town and she had been awake since 3am so was still in bed and not feeling too well. We decided I would go over there instead and help her put her decorations up because she has been too ill to do them, she only needed to go into town to return some dresses she ordered online so we walked through the park to her local post office instead then walked back through the village to Sainsburys to get her some shopping. We had a hot chocolate and a toasty in Sainsburys before we did our shopping then we went back to hers and put her tree up and some other decorations. I had a coffee then came home at teatime.
I can go into town on Monday and do all the bits I need to do so I wasn’t fussed about going in today. I was quite glad we went shopping in the end because I haven’t been able to find any nice cheese for Christmas in my Sainsburys but hers is massive so I came home with everything today. I now only have to get desserts and the veg plus some soft drinks and I’m done food wise. We normally buy a lot of buffet type food for Boxing Day but it never gets eaten so this year we will be having a late roast lunch then cheese and crackers for a snack in the evening with left over roast is and stuffing. I’ve bought lots of nibbles so that will be enough for us. I want it all gone by New Year’s Eve so I’m not getting carried away this year. I always buy dips and chips and no one ends up eating it so it’s a waste. There will only be me and DD2 on Boxing Day so that’s enough for us and she doesn’t want to put any weight back on😀 I suspect by the 27th we will be desperate for a nice veg stir fry or something along those lines. DD2 is coming to stay with me from Christmas Eve and is then going home on the 28th, we are both working on the 27th so can share a taxi. I’ve bought a nut roast to take to DD1s on Christmas Day and there will be some of that left for Boxing Day, I’ve even found some fake pigs in blankets this year 😍
Tomorrow I’m at home all day so I might have a go at the living room window if my shoulder feels ok. It’s not been great today so I will have to see, hopefully it will be dry and sunny like it was todayOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203 -
Your day with your daughter sounds nice, despite her being under the weather.
I think it's going to be up to you to phone Occupational Health - I'm afraid you aren't going to be at the top of their 'To Do' list till you do, because no one looks at a four-month old list and I doubt they've put you on next week's.
Crickey to the boss not knowing you were off!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Another day where plans didn’t go the way they were supposed to. I woke up tired so went back to sleep and got up late then I didn’t have the energy to do any of the jobs I had planned so I’ve just lounged around all day doing not a lot.Tomorrow I have to get up early to go and get my vaccines then I have jobs to do in town whether I like it or not otherwise I’m going to end up rushing round like a loony at the end of the week when I really haven’t got time.
I was talking to DD2 yesterday about how I feel and she is the same,we agreed it’s been a horrible year and it’s quite normal that we just want the year to be over, I’m trying to be in the festive spirit but to be honest it’s feeling like hard work and I think I need to just accept that it’s not going to happen this year. There’s been too much heartache for us to suddenly find our Christmas spirit lurking somehere under the tree. I’m just going through the motions and will make an effort for the grandchildren on Christmas Day but apart from that I’m not making too much effort this year.
I am looking forward to a new year and I’m hoping for a new start in January 2025. I will be continuing with sorting my house out and getting rid of as much stuff as possible over the next year so I’m streamlined for an easy life. My house isn’t cluttered by any means but there’s plenty of things here that I don’t use that can be got rid of so they will be in my sights next year. I’ve got rid of all my books apart from about five favourites that I will read again. I’ve donated all my spare wool that I’m not going to use. My craft items have been culled as well. The next thing on the hit list will be the kitchen, there’s so many things I don’t use or have too many of so that’s going to be sorted out. My makeup has all been sorted and streamlined to only the four things I actually use as well and then in the summer I will clear out the loft so I can insulate it properly.I should finish my Christmas shopping tomorrow then will get it wrapped over the next couple of days. I’ve wrapped some of it but I ran out of paper. That will leave me the rest of the week of my AL to do what I want when I feel like it.I did go out in the garden to fill up the peanuts for the squirrels and the bird feeders and I also had to sort the chicken, she likes the bird seed I put on the bird table so I left her a little pile on the patio to scratch about in.Today was quite a grey dull day so I don’t think that helped with my energy levels either. I can’t believe how fast this month is going and the fact that it will be the solstice soon, where did that time go 😳Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1206 -
New matron sounds utterly insane. She'll learn! Is Occupational Health involved? I agree with comments upthread re you having to drive it! Love Humdinger xx2
