Certainly made sense to steer clear of the bugs. Better safe than sorry.
I think you did post about the vet coming to the house, unless I’m getting my threads mixed up. It sounds as if both you and the cat need extra cuddles together .January spends - £587.584 -
foxgloves said:Your decorations sound lovely, @OBL. Sorry to hear your DD2 has gone down with a lergy. I completely agree with you re staying away from Noro as far as is humanly possible. We both went down with that one Easter & it was ghastly. I am very fussy about hand hygiene when I'm out & about, but I know that noro is the one which doctors say isn't vanquished by hand-gel, however high the alcohol content, so I am being fastidious about handwashing with plenty of soap. I am even considering carrying a small nice soap in my handbag for when ladies' loos have run out. Like you, I really don't want to catch that horrible bug again & Mr F was really quite poorly with it too.

DD didn’t have Noro in the end but thinks it might be IBS, we all have IBS in my little family and it can be quite bad 😟 she is ok again now. That’s a good idea with the soap I will have to adopt that too.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -

When I look back, I'm fairly sure you had let us know about the cat. Didn't you say how good the vet is? I'm sorry I'd mislaid that information somewhere but I remembered on reflection.
It's really nice that you are now well enough to enjoy doing the decorations. Are you decorating a dolls' house this year, too?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi everyone just posting today’s update as I seem to keep forgetting. I’ve had a fairly busy week mostly doing things at home. I’m catching up on odd jobs that I haven’t been able to do while I was ill. I have spent all week cleaning things like the patio doors and the living room window so I can decorate them for Christmas. I’ve also realised that even though I am feeling better I’m not the same as I was and my energy levels are shot so if I have a busy day the next day has to be quiet, I can slowly potter but I have to be very careful or I just collapse in a big tired heap.
i actually spent most of Monday in bed as a result of all the things I did on the Sunday and I’m making peace with days spent like this because at the moment that what my body needs amd I don’t want to have a setback.I visited my Mum on Tuesday and she is doing ok, I got her some bits of shopping on the way there and then did my shopping on the way back. Wednesday was spent at home slowly pottering around doing odd little jobs. I found the missing Xmas decorations so put them up as well.
Thursday started off with a nice lie in followed by meeting my friend for lunch then I got a message from DD2 asking me if wanted to meet her in town after work for a coffee and some late night shopping . She needed to buy an outfit for a party on the Friday and didn’t want to go on her own so off I went into town. It was quite nice really because it was raining so it wasn’t busy and she found a dress in the first shop we went in which never happens. We were supposed to meet on the Saturday but decided that seeing as we had caught up on the Thursday we would cancel that mainly because of the weather warnings.Friday was spent not doing a lot because I did too much on Thursday so I slept in then spent the day at home pottering around and reading. The wind from storm Daragh was starting to get up as I went to bed and I ended up being awake until 4am because it was so wild and windy outside and I’m surrounded trees so the wind sounds like a freight train going past the house.
Saturday was obviously spent at home as going outside would have been daft in that weather. It was quite crazy and a bit scary actually, I love a good storm but that wind yesterday was something else. I kept getting leaves and bits of branches that had come off the trees blown into my living room window 😳. The fence on the right side of my patio was swaying around a lot because the post in the middle has rotted at the bottom so isn’t holding the middle of the fence in. I’m so surprised it’s still upright today. It’s got some quit heavy plant pots hanging on it and I went out and took them off thinking it would help but it was even more wobbly so I put them back. Funnily the squirrel feeder is also hanging on the fence and the poor little squirrel out there must have felt like he as at Alton Towers 😂it didn’t put him off though
Today has been a slow day as I’m still tired but did do a small pile of ironing and a load of washing. I’ve spent most of the day chilling out. I didn’t get much sleep last night either because the wind was still as bad as it was on Saturday. There is a very big fir tree at the top of my garden that is actually next doors and it was bending alarmingly last night. It’s too far away from the house to cause damage but I would be sad if it came down. All of my trees survived yet again for which I am eternally grateful. I’m hoping to have the crown lifted on the biggest one that’s near the house but not until after Christmas. I also finished a sleeve on the jumper I’m knitting today and have cast on the second sleeve so will make a start on that tomorrow.I am planning a trip to Ikea tomorrow to look for some cushion covers and to stock up plantballs 😀I have had a craving for them this week so thought I would go for a wander,I might also look at their Christmas decorations while I’m there as I do love a Swedish Christmas dec 😀 I’ve been watching lots of YouTubers from Nordic countries and now want to move to Helsinki, it looks so Christmassy in the snow ……of course realistically I wouldn’t last two seconds in a snowy country but it looks so pretty 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -
Well that didn’t go to plan 😀 I woke up this morning feeling exhausted so didn’t go anywhere. I got up and had breakfast but was so tired I went back to bed. I feel a bit more human now and I think that a few nights without good sleep had obviously caught up with me. Im going to have to walk down to the shop in a bit because I need bread and milk.
Ikea will probably be done on Wednesday now insteadOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205 -
Ikea will still be there, @OBL. Sleep & rest are important.

It’s good that you’re listening to your body…..it’s the only way forward 👍
Enjoy your plant balls when you get them. We headed to one of the Swedish stores a couple of weeks ago and had meatballs and chips in the cafe. By the time we’d queued they were just about warm…..very disappointing…..and it’s a treat we always look forward to when we head there.January spends - £587.582 -
