I'm with beanie as soon as the move and the work you want doing to the house is done, like getting set up and the cleaning...then perhaps you can go after some wonga in the form of work for a few hours. Also great news on the provided transport 👌😊1

Already in the pipeline 😊 I've enquired with several people I know that work around the city if their place of work has availability and also the box lady has given me some good leads at the college which is actually closer to me than the shops in the city.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Prime has been paid.
It didn't go out yesterday. Even though I'd made sure three times my new card was attached. Three times it tried to take from my old card 🤦♀️🙄
Anyway it's done. So that is paid for another year. I have added 10% to the amount and divided it by 12 and put away one payment towards next year already.
I'm debating paying for ynab for the year rather than monthly as it's cheaper. I can pull on other funded pots to do this and replenish them and do the same as I am doing for prime start saving for next year's sub fees now.
I will get on with some packing today and tomorrow. I'll do the heavy bits whilst I have DP to help me as he's working right up to next weekend. Although we do have the bank holiday Monday right before we move so he has that off work as well as two weeks after 😁
Dare I say it but I'm hoping for a NSD to conserve what little day to day and grocery funds I do have left ....will let you know how I get on!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I feel I am being tested
🙄
DS has just come down the stairs...........can I have £20 to go into the city on the train and go to the library. I was like well the library is free? The train fare is only a few quid? He has pocket money for this...I sent it over to DD account when they were at their dad's house. Sheesh.
So the plan now is to give him £20 as he doesn't have a bank card currently (he lost it) and DD needs to take out £20 to give back to me. So effectively, hopefully I am not down on my money
In fact I will take her card myself and go get the cash back out as I am feeling fleeced by both of them this summer, and they've barely been home! Kids!
DP & I have been looking at self storage. Many will only allow you to take one on for a minimum of one month's fees even if you only choose to keep it a week (we've had two callbacks this morning)! I refuse to do that and we will just make do or find an alternative......

Okay DS has gone off to the city. Refused to tell me who he's meeting. When he's home 🙄😑. I'm not very happy about this but he'd already disappeared by the time I went to speak to him again. He's probably going on a date and that's why he's being so weird about it and quiet....but I'd rather know.
He's totally stressed me out this morning now.
Anyway MSE news. We found another storage place and are trying to book that for next week. They allow two weeks rental as opposed to a month but you have to pay for the month up front and then will get refunded when you don't use them 🤨🤔 seems strange but it doesn't matter too much, one month there equates to two weeks of the other one we actually tried to book with and it's a larger locker so that's fine. Although obviously we want the extra money back if we don't get to the locker to empty it for whatever reason it's not too expensive (will report spends once we get final bill). We will empty our bits into that next weekend so we're all ready to move a few days later 😃MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. Daily Spends/ groceries total today is £57.46.
I have already shopped today -
some food/ drink/ fruit/ salad/ GF bread and other food items
2 tubs of roses to deliver to solicitors / EA on completion with a card to say thank you (£9 just there)
some cleaning items and bin bags as the kids raided the last of them when they were packing for camp.
I think it all came to around £38/40- they didn't give me a receipt and I paid cash so can't check.
I've cashed out £11 odd on surveys today so that has been added to the total already.
Just looking at RM redirection services!! WOWZA is that expensive these days!! I am going to opt for 3 months only and make sure I have changed everything I can think of before that is up! -£49!!!
Child benefit is due tomorrow. That will boost things a little bit. Our buyers contacted us and told us they had just signed their contracts and sent them off. We thought they had already done it. Never mind it is done now hopefully it arrives in good time for exchanging contracts before next weekend.
DP is just finishing off changing our reverse osmosis system for a cheap water filter we are leaving for the new owners. That's his last big job done then.
Kids have left for camp. So we are planning on a super frugal week for food and excess spends. That way I can use our weekly budget for things like the RM redirection instead of the EF.
Not much else to report. DP gets paid next Friday but we are hoping to not use any of it until the 1st........this may be a pie in the sky dream all things considered but we are both up for the challenge still
DP has also cancelled his CM for the 1st. I will put that money in the bills account anyway until we have confirmation he doesn't have to pay it as we believe he doesn't but we don't know for sure yet. If he definitely doesn't then we have £420 back in the monthly budget.
Right dog walk, quick tidy around and make some dinner later. I will come up with a plan of action for the kids rooms tomorrow I think. I have boxes. I have packing materials and I have cleaning items in the house so I can just crack on hopefully!
Edited to add I have signed up for the redelivery. £49I will not be renewing that so need to get it sorted when I move!!
My daily spends left, currently sits at £8.46I really don't want to be raiding pots.......but this is cutting it fine
upside is we think we have enough food until at least next weekend in *fingers crossed*

Also some positive MS news, as I was on my ISA looking to see how to change the address, I saw the interest for the year has just gone on £1,155.62!! It matures next April then I will have to look to see what to do with it. I'm shattered. DP offered to help me do the kids rooms and whilst I had the offer of help I wasn't going to refuse it. So beds taken down, one room is hoovered and entirely packed up (DD and the biggest room so that's good) it's all clean and ready for handover. Her mattress is on the floor with bedding and I will clean the sheets, duvet etc and remake for her. I've left her a suitcase with clean clothes to last a few days and all stuff is packed into a corner. We've moved DS bed frame in there too.
I stopped for the day though, I've a headache and am hungry. I hadn't realised the time..I will finish his tomorrow.
Last of the veg burgers (the nice ones with actual veg in) on for dinner and the brown rice and some peas. Quick and easy 😊 the Freezer is emptying out nicely.

If you google 'who to notify when you move' several websites come up with checklists. Worth looking at and amalgamating?3
