If DA doesn’t have what he needs this time then he will remember next time. Resiliency!
Do you know what, I've been up there three times to ask him if I can just go through it with him and he's been so bleeding stubborn I am of the same opinion as you now. He can learn the hard way. DD let me re-pack hers and has all the extra bits she forgot DS will just have to go without.

I'm kinda done for the day. I've been shrieking my head off and have a sore throat. TWO spiders fell on me in the conservatory and I've cleared a lot of the space out now and hoovered it as my poor heart can't take any more. I'm terrified of them. DP laughed when he saw the size of it but I went into total shrieking and crying mode. He helped me then...

Gawd there must be a full moon or something I've cried twice today 🤣😒😭.
I've one more thing to clean (a mini plant greenhouse) and break it down and pack it then I'm calling quits today ☺️

I've done enough done at least a dozen boxes. If not more. DD made good progress too so it means less for me next week so I'm really pleased with that too!

AND it was a NSD today 😁

I've transferred from subscriptions pot to the main account for prime tomorrow so that's all sorted.

Oh and I have something funny to report. Well at least it was funny to DP and I. DP decided to ring the seller of our new house as messages get lost in translation (he's quite dyslexic and I can decipher as my mum and sister are both dyslexic but DP hasn't a clue 🤣) so anyways he rings to say you can go sign contracts today as they are being sent over. And he enquired as to how he's getting on packing etc. This was the response - well I've got about 4-6 boxes. And some bin bags. I can't get the work van anymore and I'm not paying for a removals company they're too expensive. I'll see if I can get a hire van, maybe. Oh and I've not booked the day off work, I'll just ring in sick 🤣🤣🤣. DP is like well you're on holiday next week when will you pack?
Ah I dunno, he says, I'll just chuck it all in bags as I throw it in the van. DP asks if he's got help with packing and moving and he says nah, doing it on my own. It will be fine I don't give a (rhymes with) truck if it all breaks. 😳🤣 He was so chilled about it we couldn't help but Laugh. I do feel sorry for him though.... I think he's ready to start over clearly. I remember feeling like that about my stuff on the last move 🤣😅

  • Little bit of money saving for today - I've got a car share for DD & DS to go to camp. I'm taking them and two other siblings there (we drive past their village) and their parents will pick up my two the other side of camp. That's great and even if I have to collect them from their house which is a 15 minute drive it still saves me over two hours over all which will be needed so close to the move 😁

:D I have already said to DP I want to hire a carpet cleaner. Not because I think he's particularly filthy but because we have to wait to replace the carpets in there for a while (considering we already have a loan on these carpets we are leaving behind!) so I guess it doesn't matter if he cleans them or not  :D As soon as we are in one of the first things I am doing is spending my time cleaning!

    Yes -27th!
And the email from cadets said to try and car share if possible so I asked DD if she had any friends that had already been- I have to say I was more wanting to car share because I haven't a clue where I am going and was hoping a child who'd been before could direct DD & DS where to go. As it happens the ones we are car sharing with, their dad is one of the volunteers and is in the RAF, so I think they've been every year for a few years so I should be in safe hands for drop off directions now  that should make it a bit quicker. I have horrible memories of dropping my DS1 off at his basic army training and getting totally lost, and then again at his next lot of training...and I didn't fancy a repeat of it and the kids being late!

  • Wow it's gone 12pm already so not good morning, but good afternoon all.
Well DP and I have been to the solicitors to sign all relevant contracts and we've asked exchange happen asap if possible so there is no getting out of it (not us but our jittery buyers).

The solicitors asked again if we wanted to be joint tenants or tenants in common- they have asked a few times. We opted for joint tenants this time, last time we chose tenants in common and my money I put into this house from my house sale was protected. This time however now we have had more time to think about it all, DP has put just as much money into the house as I have (from his divorce) especially as he's paying for the ongoing mortgage and most DIY from his wages. We will write a separate will up once we have moved to state what we both want to do with the money we have (It is all being left to my children not DPs- his last family house has them covered with an inheritance, and that house is worth twice as much as our home will be worth so I felt it was only fair.)

It's all starting to feel real now we have signed it all!  <3B)

On the way home we passed the CS, we saw a large case with wheels for sale in perfect condition- £4 and a hold all bag for £2. The suitcase is on Am azon for £50! I will let one of the kids use it for camp as their clothes, sleeping bag etc are struggling to fit in a small case.
So not a NSD but that was well worth breaking it for.
I need to pop back out to the hardware shop for a padlock for DS for camp. He will need it anyway for new school as they all have lockers given to them and they just need a padlock. DD has one (so does DS but he lost all the keys). I will take the dog with me so his walk is done at the same time.

We didn't go to the cake shop for a celebratory bit of cake and tea/coffee. We came home instead and had some rocky road we already had in and tea/coffee here.

I am going to go through the freezer in a bit and get out all food for the kids and cook it up (anything veggie rather than vegan) and make sure only DP & my bits are left in there so I can switch the freezer off sometime next week.
I am feeling really tired still and energy not quite back to where it usually is yet so I will do a bit of packing but I am not going to do much....Next week will be my big push once the kids are out of their rooms.

What an exhausting read but you are doing so well. Am in awe of you doing all this packing up and clearing.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Bit of money saving for today- filled out an online review in exchange for a £5 off voucher off my next purchase  must remember to buy my next face cream within 90 days to get it though!

@Watty1 I feel exhausted! I can't wait to move so I feel like I can allow myself to rest and reset properly. the odd bath with a book, dog walk, and down time is keeping me afloat but I am super tired (and now getting over an illness probably brought on by stress)!
