Buying a little piece of Middle England; Manifesting my way to mortgage free.

I think making a connection with the seller will work in your favour, and keeping them informed that yours is on the market etc helps. I can understand why they would continue to take viewings until you have a buyer for yours though.Totally agree on location if your budget gives you an acceptable size. Thanks @redofromstart I think so too. It's how we snagged this house too. The owner showed us around and we stopped for a chat and drink 🤣 and he said he would accept our offer over one already on the table if we matched it as he liked us better. We chose similarly when we had three offers on My last house I sold. Nothing from EA yet I am so impatient 🤣. No board outside yet either.
It's half term next week though so hopefully we will get some interest then and some viewings. There is only four houses of similar price on round here and ours is the biggest with most established gardens....so I hope people will see past the ex council house aspect and put an offer in.
Got someone collecting an item for sale on Thursday ( £10) and hopefully something going this evening (£25 I think) wondering if to use all the money we've made these last couple of days topping the EF up so it is at £2k....and then next month starting again on selling stuff to make the next bill money. I think getting to £2k would be satisfying...hmm I will ask dp what he thinks.

Another sale from decluttered loft items 😃 we've sent it all over to the EF with the thought we can take it out again to use for next bill if we have to. Morning all,
Lovely weather eh, for ducks anyway.... It has been hammering with rain since the early hours again.
I have cashed out another £5 voucher on surveys this morning. I was up bright and early with DD asking to be dropped at school early to do a revision session before her GCSE today. So came back, tidied, watered all plants and did some surveys. Surveys all dried up now but that is a fiver a day on that site if I can be bothered (they take ages to do really and not much reward but okay if I stick music on in background and can be quite enjoyable then with a cuppa in one hand).
Today I intend to empty out the fridge. Totally. There in something in there that is causing everything to go off. So need to find it and chuck it. Then I will divvy up the food left in there for enough meals to last until Sunday's shop. I made curry last night instead of chilli. So chilli tonight instead with rice and salsa. Just Thursday, Friday, Saturday to then find food for. I think I have four large sweet potatoes for one dinner and will find something else for other two days.
We are going to look at those houses later. We don't want to put all our eggs in one basket (we got gazumped before this house we're in and it was heartbreaking and so stressful hence our rebound panic purchase of this house lol). Our offer on RM is showing as under offer now, which is quite exciting but also terrifying if we get zilch interest on our house *yikes*But DP is the one carrying the positivity right now on it WILL get sold AND quick. SO we will go along with that for now
How long does it take for people to come view houses in a normal market? We sold after lockdowns before and low interest rate periods so everyone was buying we had four viewings in 3 days and it was sold by day 4. I assume now that is not normal
and am trying to think back to the last time I sold a house under normal circumstances...I think that only took two weeks, so really not sure. The rental house I sold recently also sold before it even went to the EA so I am not a good one to go on average time scales it seems
Every house we were looking at has been on the market a long time it seems and only things now are just selling...has the interest rates dropped?
Anyhow, today will be my last NSD to make my 15. I don't need anything. I am going out but we will eat first so all good and I will make a chilli so when we get back we can eat straight away (viewings are 4/5pm)
I have provisionally sold a couple more bits on fb I think, collection should be tomorrow. I might let DS have that money as it was his old stuff that he bought from his birthday money. He told me to bin it but it was barely used so sold it on. It might teach him that there is value in trying to re-home second hand stuff
Right I will be off. I started catching up on diaries yesterday but will do a few more today, have been so busy have been in bed at 9.30pm through the last weekMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I bought some hanging baskets from Mr T and grr one looks like it's dying. I don't know why I am surprised by this because let's face it SM are not garden centres. Anyway I've taken them down for some TLC in my conservatory and some feed. Will hang back out if they perk up. I think the birds might have been at them as they were covered in coir stuff and the birds have been pecking at it to steal to make their new nests so that might be a reason why. Although one looks better than the other so perhaps just bad luck on one. Annoying though. If we had a garden centre here I'd have bought from there instead I think.
Dinners all sorted for the week. Which is good as money is really tight now till pay day. Might well get a few more NSDs in as no money left to spend unless I steal from another account 🤣
I've had to put the heating on too. I'm not really very happy about that but not much we could do it is freezing here.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. My friend came over today, I cooked us lunch of wild rice and lemon, smashed avocado and mushroom and tomatoes was yummy and saved us spending in town...also trying to find somewhere that could cater for us both too 😂 so a NSD.
Putting some sweet potatoes in the air fryer soon for jacket spuds and beans for dinner.
Kids are both going to their dad's at the weekend I think so a few days peace and quiet 🙈.
Made some date balls as I've been craving chocolate lately so put some cacao in that and orange oil. They will do for treats for now.
I've meditated this morning and feeling much calmer now. Haven't had the laptop on so no surveys today...I think I will have a day off. They are so boring from the site I regularly get them from.
Hmmm not much else MS to report. Need to get a few things to send over to the EA and solicitors to prove who we are. Oh and we visited those houses yesterday. One is a good back up, two roads away from the one we favour. On an arguably better road as it's quieter. But the house is not as good neither is the garden or garage. Only two bed too so needs an extension. More MS to buy the bigger already extended one really as both similar prices. The other house we saw was dream house!!! Amazing Edwardian semi, absolutely humongous inside and out. But hadn't been touched since I'd say the 70s going by the wallpaper (they didn't even make it to the wood chip fad). Needed so much doing to it. Which would push it way over our budget. Beautiful though and nice to look round. For some odd reason though they built a garage behind the house blocking every view of the garden from the house which I found odd.
Oh sold another item on vintage I don't have much left on there to sell now. Also got someone coming to collect a FB item in a mo so another £15 made across both sales 👏 loving the decluttering as well as the money coming in 😁❤️MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Full moon this evening so I've done some manifesting and releasing energy work for what I'd like to achieve before the next full moon 🙂 DP joined in and we made a vision board! I love having a partner who doesn't think me witchy crazy for working with moon cycles 🤣 AND joins in! (I manifested him too 😉)
Lady never showed for her item from FB. I unknowingly sent her to the wrong address with fat fingers typing the wrong door number 🙈🤣 I've profusely apologised for wasting her time and I think she said ahe would try one more time which is good of her as that was my fault. Oops. Had some money trickle in from vintage too.
Dinner was a jumble as we had no beans left and had to quickly defrost something...still everyone got fed so all good.
DD came home from her GCSE today absolutely buzzing apparently English language was way easier than unseen poem on English lit. 👏 So she's happy so I am too!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000.
