Afternoon all,
Thanks for the good luck vibes, DP sounded upbeat when he came out - I just happened to be between buildings and got to ring him as he left, perfect timing for an update! He is on his way home now, so I'm sure I'll hear more later. I do know there were more than two applicants in the end that have been interviewed, so competition might be stronger than we thought. He was in there almost 2 hours 🤯.
My day was all topsy turvy, I have a student who doesn't much like anyone but me, so I was pulled out of my usual day to go be with them all day 🙄😏 as flattering as it sounds, they're a PITA and I spent all day yesterday with them - I was looking forward to my usual Tuesday of a trip out then an easy afternoon. Sigh.....instead GCSE Eng, maths and biology today 😖 it really is as awful as it sounds
I am mentally drained. However, I realised this job has taught me patience, resilience, it has also taught me that sometimes things are going on in people's lives that we don't know about and sometimes it is not always all about us. I was moaned at once again earlier, in this group I have one student who loves me and one who loathes me because I cannot give her 100% I have to split myself into 3 or 4 usually.....I wonder if she will learn any lessons from this
I doubt it, but I hold hope she does.
Dinner is leftovers as we have quite a bit left that needs using up. Curry or shepherdless pie, whatever people fancy they can have so long as it comes from a tupperware dish.
I have just taken my medicine again - hoping 3:45 is a better time that 7:45 or whatever it was when I took it last night. And no caffeine, @daisy_1571 I just checked. Think it is the herbs for energy that caused it- I am gobsmacked they actually worked!
Tomorrow is my day off, if I get a good night's sleep, I would like to finish painting, pop to shops for the odd few bits I couldn't buy from Mr M, and go to the gym. If I don't, well, plans are liable to change. I feel dead on my feet this afternoon. Not a NSD I caved to a vegan sausage roll earlier *slaps hands*, naughty. And I didn't need it. I just wanted it 🙈.
Some positives though as I am trying to find them on the days I struggle -
I didn't have to do much walking today which was good as foot was sore again
I got shown how to submit claims
I got free parking
My hours were changed so I actually ended up working an hour less
Dinner is done so I can chill- I am already in PJs
something to smile about right there, pjs and a cuppa after a long day. Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Glad DP’s interview seemed to go well 😊. 🤞🤞 for a good result …
Am I missing something … 🤔 Why don’t you take the medicine for boosting your energy in the mornings?

It says to take it twice a day. It's a mixture of things, liver cleanse (which in turn should boost energy) and hormonal helpKajiKita said:Glad DP’s interview seemed to go well 😊. 🤞🤞 for a good result …

Morning all
My wardrobes turned up yesterday. Quite the surprise as firstly I wasn't expecting them until Saturday, secondly the delivery driver let himself into my hall way 🤔, thirdly I received two boxes that had entirely the wrong product enclosed. One of them is a rather large furniture box which now takes up half my hall. Considering I ordered two products the exact same I'd have thought if it had been picked wrong they might have picked two products the same but one is garden furniture and the other some sort of cat product 😂. Fleck sake. So anyway I've been to-ing and fro-ing on messages trying to get this sorted. This is what happens on black Friday...they can't keep up.
This morning DP has already been to the dentist, who was already running late at 9 something this morning. I took the time to collect a curtain pole, some paint and have a nose in the CS's nearby. Nothing bought in CS but I got the paint I needed. My morning is running away with me. I'm sat having breakfast then I will go get changed and slap some more paint on the walls remaining and close that job off for today. Then I want to get some Xmas tree decs out as the tree is up and looking rather bare atm. Not much else is planned aside from waiting for someone to collect another thing I'm selling on FB (the biggest thing so yay if that goes as it takes up a lot of space!) £30 which should just about pay for the paint I just bought. Determined this room will be budget neutral, making the money as I go to pay for it. We've covered all costs so far, I just need to put the cash we have on the side in the bank to cover it. I also want a sliding door rail thing, they have one on big river app for £29 but considering the mess about I've had with wardrobes I'm worried they'll get that wrong too 😂. Hopefully the wardrobes won't be delayed too long and they will still honour the sale and not tell me they've run out or some rubbish.
I was supposed to see my friend today but I didn't message her back..it slipped my mind and honestly I think I just want to be in my own space today. My playlist on and doing some painting and decorating the tree. ☺️
I've got some money to cash out on prol1fic which I'll do later, that's staying in my account to cover the alarm clock...which btw we still haven't worked out how to use. 🤦🏻♀️ It's not woken us up at all yet. Might need to search out a video on how to use, written instructions just go lalalallaa in my brain and out the other ear. 😂
Okay on with the painting, I hope to report back with one room finished and a tree decorated 🎄.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

I've painted the colour on all the walls and done the window sill. I attempted to put the curtain rail up using the old holes but the rail is everywhere so slightly short for where the old fixings sat. DP will have a look and see if he can get the rail to fit- the rail itself fits, just, it's the end pieces that won't stay on because it's about 5mm too short 🤔 I think a bit of banging and persuading might help it stay 🤣. But I'll let him do that as I'm a bit heavy handed sometimes and will end up breaking it 🫣.
Next job is to do the Xmas tree, I'll do that after a lunch break. The FB buyer collecting the item has messaged saying he'll be here in the next hour so I'll make sure I'm downstairs where I can hear him.
DD can help me with Xmas tree decs later if I run out of steam.
I might pop to the PO later and put all the cash in I have in the house so it covers all the spends on the room.
No message back from seller who sent the wrong stuff yet. I've sent all pictures of the items that did come. Praying this doesn't delay things too much, but then the room isn't quite ready yet anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter- but I don't want to be forgotten about. I'm just aware we don't have many more weekends left where we're free from Xmas type activities hence the push to get the room done in the next couple of weeks.

I've not got one Christmas tree up, but I've put two up! 😁🎄🎄✅✅
Also painted the whole room from walls down to skirting and DP just has to do the ceiling now. ✅
I'm tired and stopping for the day.
The person who came for the large item I was selling turned up on a push bike 😬👀 with his wife. I wouldn't let him leave with it on that, it was wet, windy and nearly 6 ft tall!! I said give me your address. He cycled home and I dropped it to him. He'd have either had an accident on the dual carriageway on the way back or broken the item or hurt himself. 🫣 I'd never have forgiven myself if they'd hurt themselves so that was my good deed for the day. I turned up to drop it and him and his wife had the biggest bar of chocolate for me, so sweet 🥰, I said it was no bother and wish they'd asked me in the first place to deliver as they were only a six minute drive in the car- on bike it must have taken them over half hour bless them.
One big item out of my house ✅
£30 in my pocket ✅
One good deed done for the day ✅
I have £100 still in cash in the house, we've spent some on paint and other bits but I need to put the money in as I've bought paint and curtain rail on my card so need to reimburse my account.
No word from the mix up on the wardrobe yet. I will email again in a bit. Was really hoping it would be here for the weekend.
DS1 has messaged me checking details for next week...I was like next week?? And omg it is the Xmas market weekend already - how did that happen! So I definitely want this room finished this weekend if possible as the first two weekends in Dec I am doing stuff.
Right off to wash off the paint I managed to get all over myself 🫣 and have a chill and maybe a little tipple of the new drink I bought myself on black Friday (frangelico) ☺️🥃Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500
