  • Is it worth repainting if you're covering the walls with wardrobes? Could you just cover spaces with pretty artwork instead? Not a painting fan here, so I would do anything to escape redoing 😂

If you’re not sure how much paint you have, just do a wall at a time, and not the bits you’re covering with wardrobes.
  • Afternoon all,
@Bargainhunter30 If I had bought more expensive wardrobes with actual backs on or even fronts I think I would have just left it, but they are more open rails with shelving if you know what I mean and I think it will bug me no end that I didn't just do it when the room was entirely empty 🙈
@greenbee, I have enough paint to probably open a shop 😬 the paint that felt almost full I think is leftover from DD room and we literally needed the tiniest bit to finish her room, so I know the colour works well in the back of the house, so think I will go with that and it should be plenty to do the whole room as the window takes up almost as much space as the door in there so it's actually only two walls around 8ft long and usual height and two half walls. -if that makes sense

Work was stressy today, and I am glad to be done. I also found out an old student was in a really bad crash over summer and is now bedbound ☹️ he was one of the ones who gave me real grief last year, continually pushing the limit with me and everyone else and swearing at me, throwing things etc. The student who told me about it didn't seem in the slightest bit concerned about him, and I thought ughh even though he was a pain, he was 17 when he was being a pain, this is not the sort of karma I would wish on anyone. Poor kid.
The student who told me lives near me- he works in Mr W. I asked him if there were any jobs going after he told me how much he was paid for a night shift 🤔😱 he is on Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than I am! And for less stress.

I am going to go out and find the paint in a moment and see just how much is left and see if it has saved okay over winter as it has been there a year. Some of the paint that we saved has turned or gone off so i'll make sure it is usable before doing anything. The new mirror we picked up is wooden and I am debating painting it 🤭 I'll leave it as is for now but I have some pretty fr3nchic colours that might look nice with that......

Spent £2 at work and the shopping came whilst I was at work so I have pack ups for the rest of the week. I think dinner might just be leftovers as I am so tired from all the things I was doing yesterday I have struggled big time with energy today. DP has been working today and also prepping for tomorrow. He has to leave early I think -in fact best check that- so probably an early night all round.

Good luck for tomorrow for dp 🤞

Re the student, yes sad for him and his family but not necessarily karma , more likely his own bad choices, bad judgement and potentially bad temper ?  Who knows but you tried your best with him, now he has to concentrate on healing and getting himself back to wherever he wants to be.

Hope you have a relaxing evening and you both get a good sleep

  • Thanks for good luck vibes. The interview isn't early as I thought so he can leave at a reasonable time.

I have spent the last hour painting two walls. Ran out of paint so will assess in morning (although even as it's drying now it looks a hundred times better). That leaves only two more walls to do on weds in anticipation for the weekend when our furniture should have arrived. I've focused painting on the walls that will be most seen. As was said before wardrobes will be in front of much of one of the walls so I've not spent a lot of time or paint on that. It will be painted before the weekend - that's the goal I'm working towards, even if I have to do a bit every afternoon after work. Feeling quite excited to give another empty space a purpose 😊🙏🏻.

Sounds like you are making it a lovely space to be in, over the whole house

  • Ooo I got my 'prescription' by the way. And it tastes foul ...to think I paid all that money for something that makes me go 🤢 (← that is a green face if you can't see it....) makes me think I'm mad 😅 let's hope it works....!

Thanks @daisy_1571 even thinking I might restart posting on my Instagram account with house updates...I've put a couple of posts from the new house on there but not consistent. I used to quite enjoy doing that as a hobby, painting, decorating, home making....taking pics and editing them. But using most of my time up trying to make money to live got in the way of creativity sadly. 🫣

Okay, one episode of our series this evening then I'm going to crash in bed as my eyeballs are burning 🫩. Hope everyone has a good evening.

  • Morning all, let's hope it's a good one!
DP has left for the interview!
    🤞🏻🍀🌟🤞🏻🍀🌟🤞🏻🌠🙏🏻

The new herbal tincture tastes gross 🤢 I had it this morning with a banana 🤢 and my tum is gurgle gurgle gurgle 🫤😬 I also didn't sleep last night and I think it might due to this...so may need to change the times I take it 😆 after all it was supposed to give me energy. I've just taken so many of these over the years and they've never worked so didn't think too much of this one working either so took it around dinnertime and I think it was still in my system overnight.... I think it did work... 🫩 I'm very tired today and was super tired before bed so unsure what else could have kept me up the majority of the night! Thank goodness tomorrow is a day off.

I've got a free parking ticket again today. I'm running out though, I will enquire as to whether I can get more. They are saving me a small fortune when I have to drive in. And a lot of faff trying to find free spaces.

The paint on the two walls I did looks lovely much nicer than greige. I'm tempted to put a complaint in try my luck on some money back as we wasted £28 or thereabouts and a whole day to painting it and it is completely different to the colour on the tin and on the shop wall (and wall was light and neutral before it was painted as I know that effects it).

Right-o work, I'm dropping DD off first...back later hopefully with good news that DP had a great interview.
