Buying a little piece of Middle England; Manifesting my way to mortgage free.

I've bought a lot of them over time, and have been very happy with them. Order some fabric samples now so you can decide on colour. I got my thermal blinds from the same place, and had them made the same sizes, so it's easy to swap them over when I need the thermal ones.3

Great thanks! I'll have a look at that too. The windows need replacing in there and it's quite drafty so thermal ones might be a good shout too.Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

They frequently have sales or offers, so work out what you want, get all the fabric samples, and be ready to order when the offers are on!debtfreewannabe321 said:Great thanks! we have lacey curtains (net curtains essentially but feel cottony and look lacey rather than netty) and I rigged up a system. Two cup hooks at the top. Curtains on a wooden dowel. Two bits of cord looping through like a pulley and I can raise or lower them as we want. This gives light from the sky above the curtain, but privacy from people's eyeline up to our preferred 6 foot above floor level/pavement level.
I'm not so keen on blinds for the fact that they come down from the top so for me they block out too much light before you get them to the bit to block viewings. (You can get ones that pull up from the bottom and self hold but they are quite dear.)
I bought the depth that will block people looking in so most of the time they hang just skimming the window sill, but we can lower them and the fabric just pools a little which is fine. The R@nge sell different depths of fabric, you buy it by the metre for however wide you want it.
I also like the pretend stained glass film, years ago we got some from peels of London but I dont think they are still going now, diy shops have it, again the benefit is leaving the top part of the glass free

You really sound back to yourself, pushing on through the decorating. Lovely to read.
(when you finally get through the carpet layers, my really large rugs from the ikea where just over £100 and really are very nice).Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Evening ✨
@beanielou I've stopped now. Absolutely shattered 😊!
@daisy_1571 I have some of those net (not nets) on my hall window and I love them. They are half way up the window so people can't see us walking around but we can see the sky out the top.
@greenbee I've bookmarked that website for a reminder when I have some spare cash.
@watty1 we actually have an ike3 rug that we were thinking of bringing down and using under his desk!
Well we have stopped now and we managed to get all the painting done. Two coats on picture rails, coving, bit above the picture rail and below coving. Four (!!!) coats of colour and skirting and window sill two coats too.. absolutely exhausted. We ran out of time to get the desk down so that will have to happen during the week. Curtain track and curtains went up though so we have some privacy in there at least when computers start to move down. It looks lovely 😍 and I really like the colour (indigo blue by d↓lux )
Pizza takeaway for dinner and I'm not even sorry 🙈 I'm so un-mse when I decorate oops. Personal spend money is very low now but it was worth pushing through and getting the room done.
I was nearly in tears earlier getting so annoyed with the painting. I kept painting the picture rail blue and then having to go over it in white. Then I'd get the white on the blue. And have to redo the blue. Then get It on the white. Some paint brushes and swear words were thrown around and nearly resulted in me walking off the job and crying 🤣🤣. I took ten minutes out and came back to it.
I also managed to get most of the paint off the floor I accidentally spilled yesterday so that's good. Carpet will live to see another day!!Emergency Fund goal - £717.77/1500

Your attacking attitude to painting and decorating always has me in awe ! It might be pain killer and pizza fuelled range but it is an impressive "get it done" attitude.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Afternoon all thank you @Watty1 & @beanielou 🥰
The room looked lovely this morning and I'm so glad we did it properly rather than a half hearted attempt..even the four coats it took were worth it. The room looks very regal now. DP was naughty and moved his huge desk on his own whilst I was at work. So it's all set up for him. The space works so well as an office and the energy flow is much better in there. I'm secretly pleased I didn't need to come home to lift a desk either 🙈.
Work was all upside down today as my usual learners were sick. I ended up attending meetings as an extra adult present to witness statements being made and training new starter and giving campus tours then reassuring that medical episodes don't happen every day when we had to call and ambulance 😬 baptism of fire for her today oops. She looked a little shell shocked with the medical emergency poor thing so hopefully she's ok. I'm glad to be home as I've been on my feet most of the day now.
DD has already fed herself pizza so I will do DP and I some naan pizzas i think (well not really pizza, naan bread with pesto and rocket/ spinach on top and salad on side).
I might have a little look on survey sites and see if I can find a few before I get up again to do dinner and sort out the mounds of washing everywhere (it got washed over the weekend but nothing was sorted after that).
I managed another nsd I'm doing better at these. Oh- and I managed to get some free parking passes from work! So that will save me £8 parking tomorrow!! Really happy with that 😁. I only got a handful of them but I'll take whatever I can get 😀. Love a freebie.
